In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

-Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.

-And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
-The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
-The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their
Lord for every matter.
-Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
Introduction
Surah Al Qadr starts with an emphasis [indeed/certainly] and the
pronoun we is used instead of I to denote the importance of the
idea [that is, the revelation of the Quran during the night of
decree]. The honorific we demonstrate Allahs ability and
omnipotence. It does not refer to any form of association or groups
of angels who have aided Allah to bring down the Quran. Allah is
beyond and above such needs.
However, Allah dispatches angels to perform certain tasks and this
has nothing to do with regards of His Might and Glory.
Al Qadr means the decree. The night of Qadr is also known as the
night of power or the night of decree. The night of Qadr refers to the
night upon which the whole Quran was sent down from Al-Lawh AlMahfuz (the Preserved Tablet) in the night of Al-Qadr to Bait Al`Izzah (the House of Glory) in the lowest heaven, from whence it
was revealed piecemeal to the Prophet [peace be with him]
according to events which took place during his life over a period of
twenty-three years.
This surah comes immediately after surah Al Alaq [remember that
the first five verses of surah Al Alaq were the first verses revealed
in the month of Ramadan]. Surah 97 [Al Qadr] shows the importance
of the Quran and its worth.
"The month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was sent down"
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185).

The night of Qadr is found in the month of Ramadan, among the last
ten nights. It is important to supplicate Allah in the month of
Ramadan and to stand in prayer and perform good deeds during this
night because the reward of your actions will equate to more than
one month of worship. It has also been reported that the night of
power is the night where the destiny of people change.
It is the night when believers take the opportunity to pray extra
prayers, repent, read the Quran and those who are already in Itikaf
[spiritual seclusion] continue their acts of worship collectively or
individually.
In fact, the whole month of Ramadan is a period of spiritual training
wherein believers devote much of their time to actions of worship
but the last ten nights, believers strive more to please Allah and
earn the rewards of the night of Qadr.
It is reported on the authority of Jaabir ibn `Abdillah, that the
Messenger of Allah [peace and blessings be upon him] said,
"Verily, I saw the night of Al-Qadr and then I was made to forget it,
but it is (to be looked for) in the last ten nights, the night is clear
and fine, neither hot nor cold as if there were a full moon and on this
night, the devils do not go forth until the light of dawn." (Narrated
by Ibn Abi Haatim)
Verse 4 mentions the spirit. It is referred to Jibreel [as] and shows
his unique eminence, honour and merit. He is the chief of all angels,
responsible to bring down revelation to prophets.
Anyone who stays in worship on this night can witness the calm,
peace and tranquility of this night. It is different from the other
nights because of the huge presence of angels on earth who have
come to support the believers, bless them with peace and ask dua
of forgiveness for them. Many houses who enlightened with the light
of peace and Allah descends peace in the heart of the believers who
make sacrifices to please Him.
Surely, there are signs of laylat-ul-Qadr. The signs can be seen in
the early morning and at the time when the sun rises.
1. The sun rises early in the morning without rays.
2. Rain may fall either during the night or during the day of that
night.
3. During night the sky will be lightly foggy.

4. The sky will be slightly lighted without reflections and without

rays.
Hhdith related to the signs Of Lailat-ul-Qadr:
Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were talking
about Lailat-ul-Qadr in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (may
peace be upon him) and he said: He who amongst you remembers
(the night) when the moon arose and it was like a piece of plate (at
the fag end of the month in a state of waning). Book 006, Hadith

May Allah bless us all with this night.
