INTRODUCTION

Several years ago it would hardly have been necessary to

discuss the meaning of adultery. Virtually every
educated person knew that adultery is a sexual
relationship that somehow or another breaches a
marriage relationship.
Voluntary sexual relations between an individual who is
married and someone who is not the individual's spouse.
Adultery is viewed by the law in many jurisdictions as an
offense injurious to public morals and a mistreatment of t
he marriage relationship.
Statutes attempt to discourage adultery by making such
behavior punishable as a crime and by allowing a blamele
ss party to
obtain a Divorce against an adulterous spouse.
Although adultery has been historically regarded as a leg
al wrong, it has not always been considered a crime. In Eu
rope duringthe fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, adultery
was punishable solely in courts created by the church to i
mpose good morals. Inthe ecclesiastical courts, adultery
was any act of sexual intercourse by a married person wit
h someone not his or her spouse. The act was considered
wrongful regardless of whether the other person was mar
ried. At Common
Law, adultery waswrongful intercourse between a marrie
d woman and any man other than her husband.
The Greek word for adultery is moicheia. The classical
Greek writers assigned a very clear meaning to the term.
It had to do with the illicit sexual conduct of a married
person, or with a married person. On the other hand,

always refers to the sexual sin of married people with

someone other than their spouse, and the word is used in
the Old Testament both literally and figuratively. The
Hebrew word translated adultery means literally
breaking wedlock. Interestingly, God describes the
desertion of His people to other gods as adultery. The
Jewish people were regarded as the spouse of Jehovah, so
when they turned to the gods of other nations, they were
compared to an adulterous wife. The Old Testament often
referred to Israels idolatry as a wanton woman who went
whoring after other gods (Exodus 34:15-16;Leviticus
17:7;Ezekiel 6:9 KJV). Further, the entire book of Hosea
likens the relationship between God and Israel to the
marriage of the prophet Hosea and his adulterous wife,
Gomer. Their marriage was a picture of the sin and
unfaithfulness of Israel which, time after time, left her
true husband (Jehovah) to commit spiritual adultery with
other gods.

Conclusion
A family is the most important social group to which a
person could belong to. Our families teaches us about the
importance of knowledge, education, hard work and
effort. It teaches us about enjoying ourselves, having fun,
keeping fit and healthy. It teaches us all the social and
moral etiquettes which a person learns and they learn
them because of their family environment. The conditions
in a family very much affect the livelihood and working of
an individual. There for making your family very
important.
It's no stretch to say that a person has a serious
advantage in life if they come from a loving, supportive
home. Many people still succeed though they come from
less-than-ideal family situations, but having our basic
needs met, knowing that our parents love us and learning
life lessons at home make all the challenges of day-to-day
living that much easier to face. Likely, as an adult you
want a happy home for your family.
So lets learn to be contented of what we have and stop
adultery right now because it reflects within our self.

Recommendation
Most people think of a marriage made in heaven as a rare
occurrence in which both parties are deeply in love and
highly compatible. We like to think that all our marriages
are made in heaven. When a man and woman enters one
of our holy temples to be married, they covenant (or
promise) they will stay together foreveron earth and in
heaven after they die, if they are faithful to each other
and their promises to the Lord. A temple marriage doesnt
include phrases like, "Till death do you part" or "So long
as you both shall live." If we keep these promises, our
children also become part of this heavenly promise
sealed to us forever.
