The Philippines is a “sitting dog” like shape country found in the South China Sea with a total

of seven thousand one hundred islands and hundred of vast bodies of waters and its not

surprising that the main source of living of the Filipinos are fishing and farming. The Philippines

has a fertile soil, healthy climate, possess rich amounts of natural resources and abundant

fishing grounds. This country has lots of place for recreation from the cold climate in Baguio and

Tagaytay to the hot white sand beaches in Boracay and Puerto Galera. Dive in the Beautiful

Tubatahan reef, explore the longest underground river in Puerto Prinsesa , surf in Surigao and

many more. The Philippines is also the home of rare species of animals from the smallest fish

the primate the tarsier to the biggest fish in the world the whale shark.

Filipinos are well known for being hospitable and friendliness to foreigners. We are deeply

religious and vary famous when it comes to different kinds of art. We love to have fun and to

appreciate the blessing from or Lord thats why we have many fiestas and holidays. We have

many kinds of cuisines because we love to eat.

The Philipines, a unique nation with different cultures namely Asian, European and American

has adopted many of its traditions when they colonize us. No other Nation in the world can

claim to have such extensive experience with three cultures. Well, its usual to have Asian
physique with a American sounding name and a Spanish way of living. Try to discover more

about the Philippines and see for yourself how beautiful and how lucky you are to be a Filipino.
Generations

Have you ever been in trouble because you’ve done something that you don’t even know

you’re wrong? Have you experienced being compared to your own parents or even your grand

parents on your attitude and way living today? What are their real objectives in doing this? To

put shame or to teach you?

When our parents were young everything is different compared. There are no electrical

gadgets to play and usually playing outdoors is the only way to kill time and boredom during

those times. There are only a few means of transportation and communication before. A letter

sent will be received after many weeks and vice versa. Patience is vital to survive that

generation.

Nowadays, everything is instant. I a flick of a finger you can have almost everything instant

projects to instant relationship. We play; we learn and discover more with less effort than

before so the standard of submitting a requirement is also higher

Both generations show how different ways of surviving teenage life but the thing that unite us

is that we learn from our mistakes by learning someone’s past and maybe that’s the reason

why the old keep on restricting or movements not only they’re not familiar on what were doing

but also avoiding us on something they’ve done wrong.

Extinction Investigation

Long ago, animals and plants become extinct because of natural changes in their environment

such as outbreak of disease or sudden change in climate. But today, most extinction is caused

by people and their activities destroy their habitants. Once an animal extinct or plant extinct, it

means it’s gone forever. Other animals that have a very small population are called endangered

animals.

The first animal to be extinct because of human activity is the Dodo bird. It is said to a huge

chicken with a huge beak and small wings. It is a similar bird found in Oceana and they were

found by sailors and hunted them in huge amounts until the time they become extinct. This

flightless bird is easy to hunt because there slow and the cant fly.

There are more that twenty species of cactuses are endangered ant still increasing. People

destroy them when people string to build farms or mines on the land were cactuses were

found. Others accidentally kill them when they were replanted on a place not suitable for them

to live. The change in their habitants is one of the major causes of death of animals and plants.

One of the major causes of extinction of animals is pollution. The dumping of materials that can

harm animals are called pollutants. When chemicals that were used to kill insects were washed

away to rivers, it can kill fish and other aquatic organisms. Deforestation is one of the reason

why our animals and plant die.

We are created by God to protect our planet but it happens that we’re destroying it. We have

the ability to save them. Do not wait that animals you see today will be only seen in book in the

future. It this the world you want to inherit to the next generations coming?
A jolly success

Tony Tan Takiong also know as the beeman is the founder of the leading food chain in the

country and currently its CEO, Jollibee. He’s a business tycoon with a net worth of six hundred

ninety million dollars or equivalent to almost Thirty two billion pesos at the age of fifty. He also

owns an oriental fast food chain Chowking , Greenwich which specialties are pasta and pizza

and Red Ribbon Bakeshop.

Tony used to live in Davao when he was young and he was exposed to food business because

he and his brother work on their family restaurant. After highschool, Tony moved to Manila to

pursue chemical engineering at the University of Santo Tomas. After Graduating, he bought a

franchise of Magnolia Ice Cream House to start a new life. The business is good but Tony

noticed that their customers were looking for something else aside ice cream. He decided to

give up the said franchise and run a business of his own. He started selling hamburger but peple

were buying more hot meals than ice cream so he started t include different meals from

spaghetti to fried chicken. He chooses the name Jollibee because Filipinos are jolly people and

bee symbolizes the hardwork and they produces honey which symbolizes the sweetness of of

life and success after work.

Today, Jollibee and other fast food chains Tony are the proof that after hardwork theres

success. Now Tony have many branches of the said fast food chain not only here in the

Philippines but also in different parts of the world. Life is really sweet and jolly
How smiles were made

Digital technology has changed rapidly throughout the decade. It changed or way of living

including photography. No doubt that digital Photography makes not only professional

photographers improve but also gives an opportunity for lots of amateurs to enjoy this art.

Without a fil and instant viewing of photos, anyone can make the “perfect Shot”. What makes a

digital camera works? To be fair, I’m also going to show you how a film camera work.

A 35 milimeter camera or a film camera operates when we open and close the shutter of the

camera quickly. Light of the image comes in and out the film which contains different chemicals

that reacts when exposed to light. The fil is taken out of the camera and treated with various

chemicals to make the image visible and prevents further changes to images when exposed to

light.

A digital camera works according to a website I’ve visited when you take a picture with it, the

light instead of a film strikes in a digital array, a chip of a digital camera which acts as a film and

a computer which analyzes the imange. The image will be shown to the LCD screen in a form of

pixel or picture elements. Today, qualities of pictures are base on how many pixel it can

produce.

The world offers us great beauty that we want to capture them. We make photos to record

the most memorable events in our lives. We promote, we reveal, we influence peole by means

of photography. What ever the reason why we’re taking photos, we must enjoy doing it and

share it on other the photo more keeping. Smile!

Twevle Twenty- Three Fifty-three

Last December 5, 2009 at exactly 7 in the morning, the executive secretary Eduardo Ermita

announced the proclamation of martial law in Maguindanao due to the Maguindao massacre

that considered as the worst political related killing in the Philippines.

The declaration of the martial law enables the government to arrest whoever they want to

without a warrant of arrest. The other members of the Amaptuans who are link to the massacre

were also arrested because they were accused of having a private army and rebellion to the

government.

Martial law is only declared by two reasons. Rebellion and invasion. Invasion according to the

Webster’s dictionary “is the act of incursion of an army for conquest or plunder”. Obviously

theres no invasion while rebellion is the only reason the government can accused to the

suspects.

In my opinion, the government uses the martial law to shut the mouths of the ampatuans for

good because I’m pretty sure that they know about the dirty deed of the government in fact

Maguindano is the only province were the president got perfect in the elections during the

term of the suspect, Zaldy Ampatuan Jr. It’s surprising that the military seems to know where

the arms of the said rebels were kept within two weeks.

Its neither invasion nor rebellion, the martial law should be abolished because it only brought

fear to the innocent residents of Maguindanao and its neighboring provinces. Give justice to
the victims of the massacre without using the same justice for the hide the dirt of the

government.
A mother’s memoir

Mano po six; a mother love is a movie by regal films and an official entry to the manila film

festival. It’s about a mother struggle to have her kids back in the hand of his evil in laws who

treated her badly because she has two different nationalities, a Filipino and a Chinese.

The first part of the movie is about the background of Melinda Uy, the character of Sharon

Cuneta. She married a Chinese named Alfonso. His family doesn’t agree to this and blame her

to the cause of different misfortunes to their Family Including to the death of Alfonso and they

because Melinda has no money, she decided to let her children stay at her in law’s house but it

happens that Olive, portrayed by Zsazsa Padilla doesn’t want to return Melinda’s children back.

What left for Melinda is her eldest child and it started Melinda’s struggle from what happened

before get rich and how she convince her children to return to her.

The end of the story, Melinda had her children back to her and started a new life by going to

China, their first trip together. And in commemoration of her mother Jin Feng, She built a

orphanage at her mother’s hometown there.

The movie shows how a mother loved her children and her willingness to do anything for

them but when it comes to production, the movie is weak. Although the story is great the

quality of the movie seems to be old school. I can’t feel that they’re Chinese aside from wearing

costumes and being rich I can’t feel it and the script is not that deep enough that make the

movie out of balance. The acting is superb but the script is “plain” it’s like its like an instant

noodles, ready to cook. You can see that it not that prepared and its obvious that the movie
was rushed to the an entry to the film festival. It’s just my opinion, be profession, watch the

movie and see for you self.

Miniature wonders

They’re small sticky, weird and somewhat scary, insects are one of the smallest creatures on

the planet. Most people hate them and don’t know them and it’s unfair for those creatures to

be ignored. My essay will show you famous examples of insects and hopefully you.

Honeybees live in a beehive with thousand of other bees. It feed on pollen and nectar from

flowers. Both pollen and nectar is mix and by means of chemical reaction, they produce

honey.They are known for having black and yellow strips and there painful sting. They are

associated to hardworking people because they are really industrious insects.

Caterpillars live on trees and spend most of their time eating in preparation you their

metamorphosis. They have many legs with suction cups to support their heavy body. They have

bright color patters so birds and other predator think they’re poisonous. They breath at their

side which we call spiracles.

Ladybugs are kind of insects that live in the forest, fields and gardens. Ladybugs are included

to the beetle family and most of them are in red with black spots. Gardeners like this insects

because they eat aphids which sucks plant juice and damages gardener’s crops.

Lastly a butterfly is considered as the most beautiful insect of all. It flies from flower to flower

to suck nectar with their straw like mouth and they also helps in fertilizing a plant by pollinating

the flower. They came from caterpillars which change by means of metamorphosis. It’s not true

that they can blind people with their dust because they use this powdery substance to attract

other butterflies.
By appreciating these insects you’ll be more interested what are other insects in our and how

beautiful are the. Once in a while go to a park or at your garden and observe the world

underneath you.
