First of all, I would like to thank God for giving me opportunity to complete this
task. I also want to thank to all my friends that involve while I am struggling in
completing EDU 3105 assignment. A lot of thanks I want to express to Miss Sumitra
Kan Fong Kuen, my Technology in Teaching and Learning lecturer as she had guided
me in having a very perfect task while I am completing this task. She had done a
great
job by assisting us whenever we have problem with this assignment. She also gave
us
many useful tips in finishing the assignment. Then, I would like to express my
gratitude
to my parents for their moral support on me.
At first, once I received this assignment, Im totally blurred and blank on how to
create a webpage. And I found this coursework was very challenging rather than
other
assignments. Here, I would to thank Miss Sumitra Kan Fong Kuen for her guidance
throughout this coursework. She gave a clear briefing to us about this task. After I
clear
with requirements of this assignment, I managed to get some ideas on the topic of
the
video.
As we are required to create a learning package, I have chosen to create a
learning package for Year 1 students under Unit 16: At the Zoo. This unit let the
students to know about animals that they do not know and also allow the teacher to
test
the students prior knowledge about animals. The learning package that I created is
suitable for students with intermediate level of proficiency. Miss Kan had taught us
how
to use using Hot Potato, Microsoft Excel and iSpring Quiz Maker to create the
elearning.

I decide to use iSpring Quiz Maker as this application is much easier compare
to the other two. Hot Potato and Microsoft Excel are bit too hard for me. Although I
had
learnt Microsoft Excel many time, I still had problem in using it as it is too
complicated
for me. I had done the exercise for the e-learning by using iSpring Quiz Maker where
I
use application True or False, Matching and Fill in the Blank.
One of the exercises that I have included in my learning package is true or false
questions. They are required to answer the questions by selecting one of the
answers
given. A reading text will be provided and students need to read the text before
they
answer the questions. There is also matching game. Students have to match the
following animals with their homes. The purpose is to test their prior knowledge
about
animal and also help to develop their vocabularies. There is also cloze test where
students need to fill in the blanks with the correct answers. After finishing all the
exercises I notice that iSpring Quiz Maker is a software that is easy to use and also
can
help me later in creating the exercises for my students.
Next, I would like to share about the strengths of completing this assignment. I
learn so many things about ICT that actually can be a great boost with our studies.
ICT
helped the teaching and learning becomes more interesting and enjoyable. We can
attract the students to the teaching and learning process as the integration of ICT in
the
process has done so many changes to the traditional and orthodox styles. With ICT,
students will generally more on task and they will express more positive feelings
when
they use computers than when they are given other tasks to do. This is because
nowadays, computers are one of the necessities that everyone needs to have. Other
than that, I have gained the knowledge to access the internet in search of
informational

pictures and videos that have been helping in the teaching and learning process to
deliver the contents of the subject to the students.
Other than that, throughout the process of completing this project, I have learnt
many things. I have learnt about patience and controlling anger when encountered
with
problems while finishing the assignment. I have even learnt about the importance of
friendship, teamwork and positive attitude. My friends are willing to help me in the
area
that Im not really good at. Im so touched with their attitude and Im really proud
and
grateful to be their friends. I think this is one of the greatest strength of this
assignment.
The weakness of doing this assignment is my lack of skill in ICT. Im not much of
an ICT guy. I only know the basic things about computer and laptop. This is my first
time
in creating a video and produces a web-based learning package. This is also my first
time using many types of software in a time such as KompoZer, iSpring, Coreftplite,
Hot
Potato, Movie Maker and many more.
Besides that, another weakness is I had to make a lot of researching to produce
the web-based learning package. This web-based learning package is quite hard to
make for me who didnt have the background in technology and multimedia
development. Thank God my lecturer, Miss Kan had been an angel to my
classmates
and me. She guided us patiently throughout the process until the assignment can
be
completed.
My computer also crashed while in the making of the video and while Im making
the web-based learning package. This is because of the virus in my computer. At
some
point, I need to re-make my video from the scratch. It was very devastating and
frustrating. Fortunately, with the help of my friends, I could do it once more. In fact,
it

was even better with the help from them.

The experience of completing this coursework has definitely benefited my
understanding in producing teaching and learning media. Actually, I dont think I
can do
this at the first time. I really think it was really hard and difficult to do. But, then, I
never
knew that I could do such a thing with the internet and all the software. I believe
there is
many more that I could learn out there.
Throughout my journey as a student of IPG, this was the most challenging
coursework that I ever had so far. It was really challenging yet it was fun. I really
loved
to produce the video and especially the website. Through this coursework, I gained
new
experience and knowledge. I was able to produce a video and a webpage on my
own.
Being a teacher certainly isnt an easy job and there is a long way to go. This
coursework has successfully provide a medium for me to identify my own strengths
and
developmental needs in order to be a great teacher that able to inspire my students
in
the future as the saying goes The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher
explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires (Ward, 1990). I
found out one of ways to achieve this is through application of educational
technology in
teaching and learning process. Educational technology does wonders and certainly
an
indispensable part in every lesson. It supports four key components of learning:
active
engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and
connection
to real-world experts.
Apart from that, I learnt that teaching and learning can be very fun with the

integrating of ICT. ICT involves with many of media such as pictures, graphic, audio,
video and many more.
Lastly, the task had helped me understand this subject better than usual. All the
information I gathered had improved my knowledge especially on preparing a video
and
making a great way of teaching and learning media. I felt very grateful to God as I
can
go through this situation well. This coursework has truly shaping me as a better
teacher
to develop and educating younger generations.
