SAINT RITA

OF

CASCIA CHURCH

REV. MSGR. RICHARD KREKELBERG

On behalf of our Pastor, the St. Rita Staff wants to

THANK YOU!
The Holy Week 2015 was a wonderful time of St. Rita Parish being Church as we worshipped together at
liturgies that were filled with prayer and symbolism. Through our worship we return to God the gifts of
time and faith that have been given to usanother way we fulfill our call to good Stewardship.
One of the most important elements of the Churchs liturgies is the Assemblythose who come together
to offer together their prayers of worship. So, first of all a big thank you to all of YOU who participated
in our Holy Week services!

AND a special thank you to:

Our choirs and musicians who shared their musical gifts to enhance our celebrations;
Our Art and Environment Committee who created an outstanding environment that aided us
in worship;
Our Lectors who shared with us the Word of God;
Our Eucharistic Ministers who assisted in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ;
Our Altar Servers who through their ministry of service aided our celebrants;
Our Sacristans, planners and facilitators who helped in the smooth implementation of the liturgies;
Our ushers and greeters who welcomed newcomers and parishioners alike;
Our RCIA Team who instructed and welcomed new members;
Our visiting priests who assisted at our Lenten Penance Service and at our Triduum liturgies;
Our Deacons who contribute in so many ways, not only at Holy Week, but throughout the year.

AND thank you to our Celebrant, our Pastor, Msgr. Krekelberg who led us in worship and inspired us
with his moving homilies.

The Parish Staff

Christ is here!
Christ departed from our sight
that we might return to our heart,
and there find Him.
For He departed, and behold, He is here!

OF ONE HEART AND MIND

Reading about the faith of the early
Christian believers can be a real
inspiration to those of us who have
been Christians for a long time, as well
as for those who are newly baptized.
Can you imagine people of this world
being of one heart and mind as was
the first community of believers?
Todays First Letter of John seems to
hold the key to how this can be
accomplished. Keeping Gods
commandments and loving all of
Gods children seems to be the start of
being of one heart and mind. We
live in a world that stresses
differencesdifferences among
religions, among races, between
genders, and among economic classes.
Today we are summoned to focus on
what we all share in common on this
fragile planet of ours.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Dear St. Rita of Cascia,
Faith-filled Wife, Devoted Mother, and
Vowed Augustinian Religious,
Please intercede in prayer for our children and for our families,
That they may be kept free from any harm
And that they may know the protection of
Christ the Good Shepherd.
Pray, Dear Patroness of our Parish,
That parents as first teachers might be the best of teachers,
And that all here in Pastoral Ministry may say with Jesus Our Lord,
Let the Little Children Come to Me (Mt 19:14)
Let them come to Me safe and secure,
so that they might celebrate life and celebrate it abundantly (Jn 10:10).
We ask all this in Jesus Name.
AMEN.

Capital Campaign
Q: We have concerns about safety for our school children
and also for participants in ministries and people attending
services during any construction. What steps will be taken
to assure that St. Rita stays safe?
A. Safety is an important issue for everyone, including
those who have been working on the Master Plan. The
multi-phased Plan is designed to address this issue. Each
Phase will be done separately, to separate the construction
area from the rest of the campus and plant. Timing of
work has been planned to take advantage of downtime
including summer vacation. The church will be done by
project, allowing for each to be completed with as little
disruption to schedules as possible, as was done with the
new roof. Roofers planned their day around the church
calendar and stopped work during scheduled church
services. Please know that safety is a primary concern for
the staff and for the planners and that every needed
precaution will be taken. Also, we are happy to say that
many safety features are built into the design of the Master
Plan. From removing steep inclines, and adding elevators,
to improved lighting and ADA regulation restrooms, safety
cameras, and improved parameter fencing, all facets of the
plant will present a safe, as well as attractive, environment
for visitors, parishioners, parents and students.
