Job Summary
To deal with all legal matters of the Company. To ensure proper handling of the
litigation work of the Head Office, Regional Offices, Transmission Offices and Project
Offices. To file cases/represent the Company in the Civil Courts, High Courts and the
Supreme Court of Pakistan. To draft, negotiate and review Contracts, Gas Sales
Agreements with producers and consumers.
A. Core Functions
1. Primary Functions
To attend all legal matters properly.
To vet and sign plaints, written statements, replies, appeals and writ petitions
etc being General Attorney.
To prepare Law Departments Annual Budget.
To control the budgetary affairs of the Law Department.
To set goals for Law Department based on Companys Plan.
To update Law Manual.
To update Litigation Case System.
To correspond and liaise with the regions/departments on legal matters.
To guide/supervise the regions in conducting legal cases.
To facilitate/guide the regions in selection of the legal counsel.
To facilitate/guide the regions in determining the professional fees.
To monitor the performance of the legal counsels engaged by the regions.
To help standardize the pattern of professional fees after careful examination of
the assignment involved.
To arrange and provide competent advices on all references.
To make arrangements for filing of Recovery Suits.
To liaise with the Sales, Billing and Accounts departments for filing of the cases
within the prescribed timeframe.
To file execution petitions for the satisfaction of decrees in Recovery Suits.
To correspond and liaise with the advocates/legal counsels regarding court
cases.
To arrange legal opinion from renowned law firms on complex legal issues.

To obtain Management s approval for hiring the services of reputed Law


Firms/Advocates in intricate matters.
To approve Retainership fee bill of in house Legal Advisors.
To obtain Managements approval for hiring services of Arbitrators on behalf of
the Company in Arbitration Cases.
To brief the lawyers regarding the cases referred to them.
To arrange execution of Power of Attorney in favour of Company employees as
per requirement.
To ensure proper pursuance and conduct of all the court cases to safeguard the
interests of the Company.
To guide/ensure proper implementation of court decisions.
To attend Court Hearings for deposing evidence in the court.
To correspond with the Ministry of P&NR on legal matters.
2. Secondary Functions
To draft/vet documents referred to the Law department.
To issue Rejoinders to legal notices served to disconnected consumers.
To issue reminders to RMs, Advocates and Departments for follow up.
To attend in-house and inter departmental meetings.

C. Job Requirements
1. Education
As per companys Executive Service Rules
(Recommended: A Law Graduate preferably LLM in Corporate Law.)
2. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
As per Companys Executive Service Rules(Recommended: At least 10 years of
experience in law firms and/or corporate law offices with some years of court
experience)
Must be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures
Up to date knowledge of the Corporate Laws of the Country.
Must have an in-depth knowledge of the legal framework .
Must have strong analytical skills.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal
skills.

Job Summary
To assist GM(Law) in deal with all legal matters of the Company. To assist in managing
of all court cases of the Company. Provide legal advisory services and ensure effective
management of legal department.
A. Core Functions
1. Primary Functions
To assist in handling company's litigation initiated at the different forums related
to all regions.
To file cases/represent the company as in house counsel in the Civil Courts, High
Courts and the Supreme Court of the Pakistan
To liaise with various Government Authorities and attend meetings at MP&NR,
standing committees, PAC, DAC to resolve different queries.
Review and draft contracts, agreements (Gas Sales Agreements) and internal
policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements
To interpret the corporate policies, strategies, business plans of the Company
and to devise and implement measures so that Legal Services are developed cost
effectively to support these policies.
To ensure proper & timely renewals of all the licenses, contracts, agreements
and permits of the organization
Managing the legal implications of new projects of the company.
Vetting of legal documents before execution & agreements with outside
agencies.
To liaise with the advocates/legal counsels regarding court cases and monitor the
performance of the Legal Counsels engaged by the Company.
To supervise the progress of all court cases and follow up.
To make arrangements for filing of Recovery Suits and to file execution petitions
for the satisfaction of decrees in Recovery Suits.

To obtain Managements approval on hiring services of reputed Law Firms &
Arbitrators.
To correspond and liaise with the regions/departments on legal matters and for
filing of the cases within the prescribed timeframe
To ensure timely processing of professional fees after careful examination of the
assignment involved.
To brief the lawyers regarding the cases referred to them
To ensure proper implementation of court decisions
To provide assistance to the HODs on the contracts with producers and
consumers

To issue Rejoinder to reply to legal notices served to disconnecting staff
To issue reminders to RMs, advocates and departments for follow up

C. Job Requirements
1. Education
As per companys Executive Service Rules
(Recommended: A Law Graduate. Specialization in Corporate Law is preferred)
2. Knowledge and Skill Requirements
As per companys Executive Service Rules (Recommended: At least 8 years of
experience in law firms and/or corporate law offices with some years of court
experience)
Sound knowledge of legal framework.
Sound knowledge of Civil/Corporate Laws of Pakistan.
Knowledge of OGRA regulations.
Excellent oral and Written Communication Skills.
Must have strong analytical skills & interpersonal skills.
