Case Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
My Sisters Place, Inc. (MSP) is a community based non-profit organization that provides
comprehensive and holistic direct services via intervention, prevention, educational
programs and services to battered women and their children. The Clinical Case Manager
provides intensive case management to clients in MSP residential facilities or to residents
in the District of Columbias 30-day emergency housing program for victims of crime.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide intensive case management services to women and children affected by
domestic violence and other crimes;
Identify strengths and needs of individuals and families as they relate to the
overall plan of intervention;
Make appropriate referrals to address social, environmental, medical and
emotional problems;
Respond to crisis situations and intervene to resolve immediate problems;
Provide assistance in seeking housing, employment, financial assistance and other
needed services;
Maintain up-to-date records for documentation of case activity to include
electronic case management data entry;
Maintain statistical data which reflects an account of clients served and the
number and types of activities performed in order to provide services;
Prepare a variety of reports, including monthly reports to the Program Director;
Coordinate workshops on financial intelligence, housing opportunities, and other
applicable topics;
Collaborate with area service providers in addressing individual client needs;
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings;
Participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and other meetings/committees
as assigned;
Assist with training and supervision of volunteers and interns as needed;
Coverage of MSP emergency hotline as assigned; and
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Masters Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on
Social Work Education.
Comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of human behavior.
In-depth understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence.
Clinical licensure required preferred.
Two or more years of case management experience.
Two or more years experience working with individuals who have experienced
trauma.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong ability to work independently as well as on a team;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Strong organizational abilities;
Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals;
Valid drivers license and personal vehicle;
Bilingual English/Spanish is desired.
