Description
A TRIO Extension is a short mounting (0.85 or 1.3 m) mast usable with Trio series
antennas. It has the same diameter and same outside material as the antenna (230, 310,
388 or 573 mm). The two major advantages of the extensions are getting the antenna
higher, and housing a TMA or a diplexer (true for TRX310, TRX380, and TRX570
references). End or lateral cable penetrations are possible, depending on the model. Extra
height may be obtained by piling up two extensions.
Please refer to the antenna data sheet to check if it can be installed on a TRIO extension.

Piling up Trio Extensions
The TRX380-E085-001 and TRX380-E130-001 units may be piled up onto another TRIO extension, designed on purpose. Two
references are possible, whether the needed cable penetration is lateral or at the bottom. The two possible references are
TRX380-E085-011 and TRX380-E085-012.

The total height of the antenna plus extension, or extensions is obtained by adding the height of the antenna to the total height
of extensions to be found in the table.
Important notice: Never use any other assembly of two extensions than the ones described in the table. Most important:
never use any assembly of more than two extensions.

Installation
The TRIO extension must be installed under the TRIO antenna with the M10 or M16 fastenings provided with the
antenna. At the bottom of the extension, mounting is done with M16 fastenings which are not provided, being
dependent on the type of basement (concrete, tower, etc).
In the case of the use of an additional extension for piling-up, with TRX380-E085-011 or TRX380-E085-012, top and
bottom fastenings are M16, and the fastenings for the top are provided. They are not provided for the bottom side as
they are dependant on the type of basement.

TMA mounting
Adding a TMA to the TRIO extensions up to a diameter of 388 mm is possible in all units except TRX-230-E085-002.

The TRIO extensions show the same inside arrangement as the service areas of the TRIO series antennas, with three
sector zones into which the TMAs may be fitted.
Their mounting is straightforward by using dedicated brackets, which are designed to match the already fitted hooks
(b) inside the TRIO extension. These brackets come with the TMAs by simply adding T to the reference of the
TMAs. There is no extra line to be added to your order for these supports. Example: TTA-UMG000H, which becomes
TTA-UMG00OH-T when fitted with the dedicated brackets for TRIO extensions.
Mounting of the TMAs is of extreme simplicity. The dedicated supports have openings (a) into which the hooks (b) will
enter when pushing the TMA inwards horizontally. Once fitted, gently push the TMA down until the locking pin (c) is
engaged.
Removing the TMA needs the locking pin to be pulled out before lifting the TMA out.
To connect the TMA2100 to the antenna we recommend the use of our TRX-JUMP-001 jumpers (see below).
