Solsperse X300 Reactive Dispersant Improves

Pigment Dispersion and Flow in Radiation-Cured Coatings and Inks
CLEVELAND, OH, June 2, 2008 Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc., a subsidiary of The
Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ), announces the first product in a line of new XL Reactive
technology hyperdispersants for radiation-cured coatings and inks. Solsperse X300 reactive
dispersant crosslinks into the structure of the coating system, improving pigment dispersion
and stability in UV coatings.
Used in conjunction with increasingly popular radiation-cured coatings and inks, Solsperse
X300 helps to reduce solvent emissions and improve environmental compliance. It is a 100percent active cross-linkable dispersant that is dissolved into the millbase oligomer/monomer
before the addition of pigments. When dispersing certain organic pigments, the performance of
Solsperse X300 can be enhanced with the use of additional Solsperse synergist, such as
Solsperse 5000 for blue, green and some carbon black pigments and Solsperse 22000 for
yellow, red and orange pigments.
When used in these applications, Solsperse X300 helps formulators achieve improved pigment
wetting, enhanced tinctorial properties and increased hardness.
