Nouns video. (Stop video at proper noun introduction).
Discuss WG some things the students saw in the video that were nouns that
we also have in our classroom.

Lesson Sequence:

Direct Instruction - TW show students anchor chart with person, place or

thing sections. Each student will receive a noun card with a noun on it. TW
call students up one by one to put their noun in what section it belongs.
Class will discuss placements. (Some students will have blank noun card
and they will write their own noun on the card.)
Guided Instruction - TW pass out reading passage. TW read passage
aloud for students to hear WG. TW put passage under projector and show
students how to highlight nouns in passage. SW be instructed to work with
a partner in highlighting the nouns in the rest of the passage.
Independent Practice - SW then be instructed to work independently in
sorting the nouns from the passage into groups on individual noun sort
sheet (person, place, thing, or animal).
