writing
Read the following report about ethical issues in the pharmaceutical industry and check for
grammatical errors. (Notice the use of articles, tenses and verb agreements.) Correct the text
and then rewrite it using appropriate section headings. Write 120-140 words.
There are many issues which currently concern our industry. The first one is the issue of
providing solutions for a developing world. Critics says that our industry does not invest
enough in research to help the Third World. The second issue is the cost of new drugs. We are
often accused of not making our products available at the reasonable prices. The third major
issue is our relationship with the medical profession. Some people believe the relationship is
too close and that we have too much influence over doctors. We need to show our critics that
we invested heavily in new treatments for major diseases. We need to explain the cost of
research and development. We also need to show the world that we support the medical
profession but do not have power over it.
