mapping the full extent of my sorrow. I was shivering due to cold even though
there was just a gentle breeze. I wondered to myself, if things could have been
different had I not taken part in this trip. Never in my wildest dream, did I imagine
that a spectacular event on a yacht would turn out to be a nightmarish affair.
The day before was a euphoric one filled with excitement of the two day
yacht trip I had embarked on. On that fateful morning as the yacht drifted gently
from the shore, the scenic view was splendid across the horizon of the sea as
far as the naked eye could see. A melodious wind blew gently and the tall
coconut trees were swaying to the rhythm of the wind. We were surrounded by
crystal clear sea water. The blue sky, illuminated with fluffy clouds, was a
magnificent azure. That was not the end of my blissful day .As dusk approached,
the scene thrilled me as I sat on the deck .The sky gave a golden appeal and the
sun looked like it was sinking into the sea as night began to unfold. Then, the
golden yellow background of the sky changed to millions of twinkling jewels. I
was mesmerized to see the view of the opulent God's magnum opus.
As the last shreds of sunlight vanished from the sky and darkness
descended ,all of a sudden a howling wind emerged from nowhere and began to
blow furiously. Sensing danger a paralyzing fear rose in my chest. My instincts
told me something disastrous was imminent, but i just could not figure it out. I
went into my space and dived into deep slumber .In no time I was rudely
awakened by screams and the explosive sounds of gunshot.
The vessel master bellowed ,"Abandon the yacht!, Abandon the yacht! ,We have
been attacked by pirates".
I was shocked to hear the announcement from the master and gripped by fear. To
my horror the yacht was in a topsy-turvy condition. There was chaos all around
and I realized that the yacht was damaged and about to sink as it was engulfed
by water. I dragged myself outside and to my flummox, I saw everyone running
helter-skelter to get out of harm's way. I felt the adrenaline rush through my
blood. Saving my belongings was no longer a priority as I was in real danger.
All of a sudden the damaged yacht began to submerge and I was flung violently
into the choppy sea. Then everything seemed to plunge into darkness.
