Grading Policy
30 % Participation/Preparation
Students are expected to come to class in appropriate attire every day. This means
having a change of clothes from their regular school clothes that allow students to move
freely, having sneakers every day and coming to class with a positive attitude. Students
participate throughout the entire class and are actively involved in class. Students
behave appropriately during class as well as in the locker room.
20% Quizzes
Students will be quizzed throughout every unit on physical education content. Quizzes
will include all content covered in class and will be given in a variety of different formats.
Formats of quizzes may include short answer, multiple choice, true/false, fill in the blank
and/or matching.
5% Skill Assessments
During each unit students will be assessed on skill(s). For skill assessments there will be
rubrics and rating scales provide to identify criteria. Students are expected to do their
best on skill assessments.
35% Projects/Tests
Projects and tests will be given throughout the semester. Projects are designed as nontraditional assessments. Projects may or may not include a presentation. Two tests will
be given during the semester. Tests will cover physical education content covered in
class. The day before a test there will always be a test review so students know what
they are responsible for on the test. Tests formats may include short answer, multiple
choice, true/false, fill in the blank and/or matching.

Soccer can be a great source of exercise. Soccer benefits cardiovascular endurance (the ability of
the body to pump oxygenated blood throughout the body) and also muscular endurance (the
ability of a muscle to complete an exercise over and over again).
