NOTE:
CustomersusingoldSPARCmodels(UltraSPARCII,III,IV)may
experienceperformancedegradationandshouldconsiderupgradingtheir
hardwaretothenewestSPARCmodel.Recommendedhardware
configurationscanbeobtainedbycontactingyourExLibrisofficeor

File System and Disk Space

EachphysicaldiskthatwillbeusedbyExLibrisshouldbemountedona
separatefilesystem.Thenamesofthefilesystemsshouldbe/exlibris,
/exlibris1,/exlibris2,andsoforth.
Afilesystemnamed/exlibris,withaminimumsizeof40GB,ismandatory.
Itwillbeusedexclusivelyforallsoftwareandconfigurationtablesandfilesthat
willbeinstalledbyExLibris.The/exlibrisfilesystemmustbemounteddirectly
totheserver,andcannotbeasoftorsymboliclinktoanyalternativelynamed
filesystem.
TheAlephdatabaseandAlephscratchfilescanbeinstalledonseparatefile
systems:/exlibris1, /exlibris2,andsoforth.Installationswithmorethan
500,000bibliographicrecordsmusthaveatleast50GBonseparatefilesystems.
