reducing thermal interface resistances.

Under Contract to Boeing Phantom Works, Huntington Beach, CA 2003 − 2007

MLI Design Engineer/Thermal Systems Analyst (Gaggle Diversified, Inc. Consultant)
Lead thermal engineer for the Orbital Express (OE) spacecraft On-Orbit mission procedures and operations. Lead
engineer in charge of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blanket design using Unigraphics NX2 for the OE program.
Directly responsible for design of over 50 thermal blankets. Developed detailed integrated thermal model of OE
spacecraft using TSS/SINDA. Detailed model involved translating system and subsystem models between
ESARAD, TRASYS, THERMICA, THERMAL DESKTOP and TSS. Instrumental in completing OE Spacecraft
Thermal Vacuum Test. Supported thermal system requirement development and closure.

Swales Aerospace, Pasadena, CA, 1999 − 2003

Program Manager (Consultant to NASA/JPL and Boeing Satellite Systems, formerly Hughes)
Managed a team of up to 25 engineers, performing over 30 spacecraft and subsystem thermal vacuum tests.
Developed schedules, performed tests wrote procedures/reports and directed training efforts. Performed thermal
system design verification on spacecraft using TSS and TAS (Harvard Thermal). Developed SINDA models to
predict thermal performance for space vehicles in orbit and in interplanetary flight. Performed structural analysis
using FEMAP.

Under Contract to Hughes Space & Communications, El Segundo, CA 1998 − 1999

Thermal Systems Analyst/Test Engineer
Lead Test Engineer for spacecraft thermal vacuum (SCTV) tests including training of test engineers. Interfaced
with Systems Test and Space Simulation Laboratory in preparing and SCTV tests. Standardized test
documentation utilizing new procedures and forms that become the standard protocol for new tests. Developed
HS-CINDA systems level thermal models to for space vehicles in orbit.

Under Contract to Hughes Electron Dynamics Division, Torrance, CA 1996 − 1997

Structural Analysis Engineer (Concurrent with Allied Signal)

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Innovations
• Performed difficult thermal model translation from THERMICA to THERMAL DESKTOP for launch vehicle
model integration. Received two employee commendations.
• Responsible for design, procurement, analysis, manufacturing and testing of Martin Marietta's first prototype
Nickel-Hydrogen spacecraft battery.
• Developed an electrical isolation method, which reduced installation time and cost during Nickel-Hydrogen
Battery development program. Received a Co-Invention award.
• Instrumental in developing and testing advanced methods for securing Surface Mount printed circuit boards using
composites for heat sinking and stiffening. The assemblies proved capable of surviving extended random
