Project 252 is designed to teach you the habits necessary to becoming a lifelong follower of

Jesus Christ. My hope is that you will carve out 5-10 minutes a day to do the following four
things: 1) Read your Daily Devotion. 2) Spend 5 minutes in prayer. 3) Look over your
memory verse. 4) Think about one thing you can do to reach someone for Jesus today. In
addition, we will be teaming you up with a mentor who will help you on your journey.
Excited? Here we go:

Philippians 4: 66

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,

with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Day one - 1 Peter 3: 1-7

1
Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe
the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2when they see
the purity and reverence of your lives. 3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment,
such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that
of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in
God's sight. 5For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to
make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, 6like Sarah, who
obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do
not give way to fear.
7
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with
respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing
will hinder your prayers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you have an annoying sibling? Is there a person in your life that just drives you up the
wall? Do your friends always talk about the same things? It’s enough to drive you crazy,
right? When someone tells me that I should try something, like a new type of shampoo, I
usually just push it to the back of my mind and forget about it. But if my hair is dry, has
dandruff and won’t style correctly, the first person I’m going to ask about shampoo is the
one who’s hair is bouncy, looks nice and is clean! I don’t always respond when people tell
me that their way is the right way, but when I get into a problem, I look to see who’s doing
it right and I ask them for advice. The second part of verse one says “they may be won over
WITHOUT words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of
your lives.” Now ignore for a second that this is talking to husbands and wives, and instead
focus on how they are to behave. If you are living a right life, people will notice and ask you
about it.

Day two - 1 Peter 3: 8-12

8Finally,all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be
compassionate and humble. 9Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with
blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10For,
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn from evil and do good;

he must seek peace and pursue it.

12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous

and his ears are attentive to their prayer,

but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blessings are a good thing! Have you ever been the favorite? When I was growing up I was
convinced I was my Mom’s favorite child, because she always went out of her way to bless
me. I’d get a little extra dessert (okay, so maybe that didn’t end so well) or get to stay up
later, stuff like that. But usually, the blessings that I got were because of my behavior. I
would come home on time and clean my room and do the dishes when asked, and because
of these things I was blessed. Verses 8 and 9 give us a small list of things to do to get a
blessing from God. Try one of these out today and see how God blesses you.

Day three - 1 Peter 3: 13-17

13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for
what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they fear[b]; do not be frightened."[c] 15But
in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and
respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your
good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17It is better, if it is God's will, to
suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now who will want to harm you if you’re eager to do well? But even if you suffer for
doing what is right, God will reward for it. So don’t be afraid and don’t worry. Instead you
must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if you are asked about your Christian hope,
always be ready to explain it. But you must do this in a gentle respectful way. Keep your
conscience clear. Then if people speak evil against you, they will be ashamed when they see
what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

What does this mean well to put these whole verses in a nutshell it mean have
something to say about what Christ is doing in your life the good thing and bad thing he’s
helped you overcome. No one is perfect except Christ, but anyway to have a clear conscious
you need to admit some mistakes as well as being a good Christian and keeping sin away.
Here’s a personal example I gave my testimony a month or so ago it was hard but it got me
feeling good and I was able to show people I love the lord enough to put myself out there.
Testimonies help people to see their own problems when they hear others say theirs.
That’s powerful I believe.

I challenge you to go and talk to your friends about what Christ has done for you.
You don’t have to get up in public at church and spew your testimony (unless you want
then do it)! Just talk with at least 2 friends, and see what amazing things happen.

Day four - 1 Peter 3:18

18ForChrist died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One short verse today. So we’re gonna take a little time to look at the meaning behind these
words. For Christ- Jesus was the Son of God, the only perfect person to ever live. Died for
sins once for all, He died, not just for the sins we’ve already done, but for the ones we’re
going to do. The righteous for the unrighteous- He was perfect, we fail all the time, yet he
chose to give Himself for us. To bring you to God- Our sin kept us from being able to be
with God, but when Jesus died for us, He made a way for us. He was put to death in the
body- He was hung on the cross for us. But made alive by the Spirit- And that same Spirit
that brought him from the dead now lives in us. You see, Jesus died even though we didn’t
deserve it, and couldn’t earn it, in order to give us an opportunity we couldn’t possibly have
on our own. All He asks is that we live for Him.

Day five - 1 Peter 2:18-25

19through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20who disobeyed long
ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only
a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21and this water symbolizes baptism
that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good
conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into
heaven and is at God's right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to
him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you remember the story in the Old Testament of Noah? He lived in a land where people
had forgotten all about God. So God told him that He was going to destroy the people. He
then gave the people over 100 years to get right with him while Noah was building the ark!
Like those people, we were also set for destruction. But God sent one man, Jesus, who like
Noah was able to warn us of our fate. Some of us listened, and were saved, and some
haven’t listened yet. Our job is to get them in the ark.
