Approx. 1996-Present:

Freelance double bassist, doubling bass guitar (/keys/percussion). Includes shows, pit work,
orchestral, choral and mixed concerts, recordings, broadcasts, chamber work, studio work and
many other aspects of freelance playing. Work includes such groups as:

English Symphony Orchestra, Royal Shakespeare Company, Corelli Ensemble and Corelli Chamber Orchestra, Bochmann
Ensemble, National Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Southern Festival Orchestra, EC4
Orchestra, Wolverhampton Symphony Orchestra, Bergamo Ensemble, Philharmonia Orchestra (experience scheme),
Albemarle Orchestra, Oxford Philomusica and Cheltenham Chamber Orchestra, Aminta Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra of

Currently bassist of London-based folk/rock/Americana band Pig Earth, winner of British Country Music
Awards Horizon Act of the Year 2011, and of Oxfordshire-based blues/jazz/funk/reggae/ska band Bare Bones.
Was double bassist and bass guitarist of Oxfordshire-based blues band Mojo Bones.
From Summer 1999 to October 2001 was principal double bassist of the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra
(NMSO) (Conductor: James Blair). Concert venues include: Royal Festival Hall, London; Barbican Centre, London;
Symphony Hall, Birmingham; Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool; Leeds Town Hall; and The Corn Exchange,
Cambridge.
Since Summer 1999 has been a regular pro-visitor with the Jersey Symphony Orchestra, playing in up to
three gala concerts a year by invitation (Conductor: Phillip Ellis).
In 1991, co-founded the Dean Close Jazz Band, playing as double bassist/bass guitarist for the next 5 years.
Between 1991 and 1996 was double bassist with the Hewlett Trio, performing jazz standards.
October 2000-April 2002: Appointed double bass and bass guitar teacher at The Music Practice, Abingdon (25 Bridge Street,
Abingdon OX14 3HN). Teaching began in January 2001
