Objective
Logistics is playing a vital role in delivering products and services, and driving
research into finding ever better theoretical and technological solutions. The aim of
this book is to collect innovative research work and original applications on the field
of logistics research with focus on Military, Aeronautical, Maritime and Operations.
This book will be a significant source of information that compiles interdisciplinary
perspectives about diverse issues related to logistics from an inclusive range of
methodological perspectives. It wants to focus on original contributions in the form of
theoretical, experimental research and case studies applying new perspectives on
logistics.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
- Military logistics
- Maritime logistics and port management operations
- Aeronautical logistics
- Supply chain engineering
- Innovations in inventory management
- Combinatorial optimization
- Game theory applied to the supply chain
- Fluidity in supply chains
- Supply chain clustering
- System dynamics modeling

- Quantitative models for managing multimodal logistics platforms
- Reliability in freight transport systems
- Supply chain simulation
- Mobile applications

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before February 28, 2015 a
2-3 page chapter proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of the
proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by March 16, 2015
about the status of their proposals. Chapter guidelines will be sent. Full chapters are
expected to be submitted by May 30, 2015. All submitted chapters will be reviewed
on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as
reviewers for this project. This book is expected to be released in April 2016.
