GENERAL ASSIGNMENT GUIDE
General Instructions:
Form a group of 3-6 members.
Each group has to complete one written assignment and an oral presentation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT (10%):


Modern physics has extended science into the boundless universe and to the microscopic
structure of objects previously unknown to mankind. This revolution has given birth to
series of key technological breakthroughs in various fields (physics, chemistry, biology,
geology, information, worldview etc). Prepare a not more than 20 pages education
note to general public describing how modern physics impact our daily lives. In your
work, you need to introduce and describe technically the nature of the breakthrough, its
implication or impact to the society. Submit your work before or on 27th March 2015.
Plagiarism is UNACCEPTABLE. The complete assignment will be strictly rejected if
students are found copying from other sources without proper citation and referencing.
Citation and bibliography format: Citation and bibliography format: American
Psychology Association (APA) style. At least 5 reading materials should be referred and
listed in bibliography or references list.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORAL PRESENTATION (10%):

Each group will be required to present their group assignment and thus, should be
prepared to handle queries regarding their topic.
Group oral presentations will be carried out starting Week 5.
The oral presentation mark will account for 10% of the total grade of this subject, and
marks will be given as a group.
No marks will be given to any presenter who is absent (without valid reason).
It is the group members responsibility to bring up any issues, such as free rider to
the instructor two weeks BEFORE final submission of assignment for further actions.
Any complaints after the due date will not be entertained.
