Thank you for your trust in re-electing me as the Member of

Parliament for Bournemouth West, Alderney and Branksome East.
It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve you as your
Member of Parliament, and I look forward to giving you five more
years of service.
I will continue to give you a voice in Westminster by listening to you
and speaking for you, and will always remember that it is you who has
sent me here.
I promise that I will always do my best for you.
Yours,

Conor Burns Election Speech

Conor Burns giving his victory speech after the General Election
result was announced.
Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Given the hour, I will be brief.
Can I thank the returning officer, and the staff who have done such a
diligent job this evening in delivering this result. Can I also thank the
police who have ensured that this election, as all elections in Britain
are, was fully free and fair.
Id like to thank my agent, Anthea Bailey and my campaign manager,
for my second election in Bournemouth West, Andrew Morgan, who
has conducted the organisation of the general election and the local
elections with a precision and expertise that is beyond compare.
I would also like to place on record my gratitude for the support,
counsel and advice of John Beesley, who leads this Council with, I
believe, distinction.
As Ive gone around in the last number of weeks, I have met hundreds
of people that I have had the honour of helping and serving in the last
five years. I place on record tonight my enormous gratitude to my
caseworker, Jeanne Mousley, who will shortly retire, who is at all times
and in all circumstances absolutely wonderful. Thank you, Jeanne, for
everything you do.
We fought a totally positive campaign in Bournemouth West. I am
proud we didnt even mention other political parties in our literature. I
am pleased that that has been rewarded with an increase in the actual
vote that I got after five years of service without a boundary change,
and an increase in the majority.
I pledge this very simply. I will always do my best by the people of
Bournemouth West. I will always remember it is they who sent me to
Parliament, and I will always serve them.
For the biggest issue that came up on doorstep after doorstep in every
part of the constituency, the Navitus Bay Wind Farm, tomorrow
morning I resume my opposition in the fight to ensure that that is not
something that goes forward.
I thank the people of Bournemouth West for the trust they put in me,
and I promise them I will always do my best for them.
