Tyres

Foam filling of tyres

Tyres on wheel loaders used for recycling applications, e.g. scrap metal,
construction debris and waste, can be filled with foam.
A plastic mass is pumped into the tyre, which is mounted on the rim. This
mass is then polymerised to become a permanently elastic filling.

The tyre manufacturer's warranty becomes void!

These vehicles cannot be registered for road use!
The mounting release depends on the wheel loader's equipment
and the operating weight. The factory must be consulted!
If third-party equipment is to be installed, a stability checklist (see
page 42) must be requested from info@liebherr.com and sent to
the Liebherr Bischofshofen plant!

Thanks to the convenient shift control the hand can remain on the control lever, and excellent

Joystick steering control

The joystick steering facilitates
work with largely the same steering process, such as the Y movement with the machine when
loading transport vehicles.
The joystick steering control is an
additional electro-hydraulic steering system. Moving the joystick to
the left or right causes proportional
valves to move the hydraulic
steering system's steering cylinders.
The steering speed depends on
how the joystick is moved. It is activated

Dust filter-pressurised system

Example L 544

The pressurised dust filter system is used when the work generates
a high volume of dust.
Incoming cab air passes through 4 stages of filtration, a first stage
cyclone dust trap of two class S pore filter and an addition recirculation air filter, filter the air inside the cabin. The cabin is sealed in
such a way that overpressure (approx. 150 mbar) prevents dust from
entering.
A pressurised dust filter system does not comply with the ZH1/184
regulations and must therefore not be used as protective ventilation
(for instance, not on garbage dumps with contaminated materials).

Protective ventilation

Protective ventilation is used in contaminated areas or on garbage

dumping sites.
The outside air is drawn in via a constant-pressure ventilator and
forced through a cyclone pre-filter. Subsequently, the most minute
particles are trapped in a class "S sub-micron particulate air filter.
The charcoal filter then eliminates harmful gases and vapours from
the particle-free air. The clean air now reaches the cabin, which is
sealed in such a way that an overpressure of approx. 150 - 250 mbar
is maintained to prevent harmful substances from penetrating.
In most cases, installation of protective ventilation is stipulated by the
industrial control authority.

Automatic pressure monitoring.
The system complies in full with the ZH1/184 regulations und must
only be installed and maintained by authorized workshops. At the
moment, Liebherr has negotiated a contract with the Wlfle company
to supply, install and maintain such components.

Particle protection for radiator

The particle protection was developed for extremly dust-intensive
operation, to prevent the radiator gills from becoming clogged too
rapidly. Coarse pre-separation of all dust particles (fluff)
The particle protection is mounted with
a quick-acting lock to permit very easy
removal and easy cleaning.
The engine intake air is pre-cleaned by
means of Top-Air. This spins the
incoming air and ejects particles due to
certifugal forces. (Longer service life
for air filter)

LBH recommends ordering the vehicle

with a reversible fan drive from the
factory, as retrofitting is expensive.

Automatic central lubrication system

The grease central lubrication pump with clear-vision reservoir and

integral electronic control unit is attached to the left side of the
machine, behind the entrance steps. A rocker switch with integral
telltale lamp for functional control is installed in the cabin.
The automatic central lubrication system mainly consists of the
following features:
- the grease central lubrication system with clear-vision reservoir and
integral control unit,
- telltale lamp for functional control
- one main and several sub-progressive distributors
- electric push button and lubricant lines.
Liebherr central lubrication systems are precisely geared to the relevant
Liebherr construction machine - in the number of lubricating points,
lubrication metering and electronic control.

With a Liebherr central lubrication system every lubricating point of

the machine is continously lubricated with accurately metered amounts
of grease while the machine is in operation.
This is because the frequent supply of small amounts of grease is
considered to be more effective than a few large amounts.
This method helps to distribute the lubricant evenly in the bearing and
reduce wear considerably.

Reversing obstruction detector

The reversing obstruction detector warns people located in the danger

zone while the vehicle is reversing. The reversing obstruction detector
is switched on electrically when moving the driving direction switch
(in reverse position) and shows the driver the distance to the obstruction with colours on a light display in the cabin.
