Junior House to Living Land
Junior House had a blustery but very enjoyable day at Living Land
on Wednesday. They were particularly impressed by the birds of
prey display and the dancing sheep but also learnt a lot about food
and farming in our local area.
Thanet Primary Schools U9 Swimming Gala
On Saturday five members of Junior House took part in the Thanet
Primary School Swimming Gala. Finn Crane (Backstroke), Harry
Heming (Breaststroke) and James Felton (Freestyle) all made the
final of their individual event with Ella Yu (Freestyle) and Ashton
Gifford-Groves (Individual Medley) finishing 3rd and 2nd
respectively in their final. The team also reached the final of the
three relay events they swam, with 4th in the boys freestyle being
the pick of their results. The Wellesley team finished a very pleasing

5th overall out of 18 teams. A big thank you to Natalie GiffordGroves who looked after the team.
IAPS National Swimming Finals
On Saturday afternoon Ci Gifford-Groves finished 6th in the final of
the 50m breaststroke at the National IAPS swimming

against a very strong field. Well done

We are on the lookout for a couple of willing volunteers to help in
our school library for a few hours each week. The role would
involve reading with children and helping them to choose and find
books, as well as assisting our Block 1 librarians in organising the
stock and helping to make it an exciting and inviting environment
for the children. If anybody knows of someone who might enjoy
this, please contact Mrs McDermott hmcd@wellesleyhouse.net

they hope to laugh and sing their way round, which they feel Silas
