Discussion.
The transfer of heat is normally from a high temperature object to a
lower temperature object. Based on the result obtained from the
experiment, we can see that the graph the convection heat transfer
coefficient (h) for the finned plate and pinned plate sample is increased
due to the increased the air velocity. The surface areas (As) for both
pinned and finned plate are different thus affect the result of the
experiment. The surface area for finned is 0.0722m2. The heat transfer for
finned plate is lower than the pinned plate. The pinned plate with surface
area 0.0346 m2, have higher heat transfer.
From the result, we also we can see that the surface temperature for
finned and pinned plate are decreased while the air velocity steadily
increased. The surface temperature for the pinned plate is higher than the
finned plate with bigger surface area. Thus conclude that the finned plate
are released more heat than the pinned plate.
They are also some error that might have been made while doing
this experiment, the room temperature are no exactly correct. The
laboratory is cooled with air conditioner so the temperature are not
exactly room temperature. Besides that, the value that been taken are not
constant as the temperature gradually decrease as the value for result are
taken.
Conclusion.
As for the conclusion, the experiment is successfully done. The
objectives of the experiment to demonstrate the use of a fin to improve
the heat transfer in forced convection are achieved. The pinned plate with
small surface is better than finned plate in heat transfer. Finally the
increased of air velocity helps to reduce the heat temperature faster.

Discussion:
Based on the result obtained, the surface temperature between two samples finned and
pinned sample. We can conclude that, the pinned surface has higher surface temperature than
finned surface, this is mainly because the finned sample have bigger surface area than the
pinned one. So it will transfer heat more efficient than the pinned one.
Based on the graph, we can observe that the convection heat transfer coefficient (h) for both
samples were increasing as the air velocity increased. This will prove that air velocity will
affect the heat transfer rate as it is will increased due to the increasing of the air velocity.
There might be some error in the experiment such as the air velocity could not be control
stably as it is not stay on one value only and keep on increasing and decreasing while we
operate the experiment. Also, the ambient temperature inside the lab maybe too cold as it will
affect the cooling rate of the samples.
Conclusively, the experiment was succeeded and all the objective was reached.

Conclusion:
Conclusively we can say that, finned sample will transfer heat more efficient than the
pinned shape sample because of its surface area were bigger than the pinned shape sample.
Also, we can conclude that air velocity will affect the rate of convection heat transfer. The
higher the speed of the air, the higher the rate of convection occurs.
