AILERON

The control wheel (also known as control stick or yoke)

is connected to the ailerons by cables, bellcranks,
pulleys and/or push-pull tubes. It is used to control
aircraft rolling movement.

When the control wheel is turned; the aileron on one

wing deflects upward, while the aileron on the other
wing goes down. This increases and decreases lift on
the wings. Increased lift on the left wing and the
decreased lift on the right wing cause the airplane to
roll to the right. Increased lift on the right wing and
the decreased lift on the left wing cause the airplane to
roll the left.

FLAPERON

A flaperon is a type of aircraft control surface that combines aspects of

both flaps and ailerons. In addition to controlling the roll or bank of an aircraft, as do
conventional ailerons, both flaperons can be lowered together to function similarly to a
dedicated set of flaps. Both ailerons could also be raised, which would give spoilerons.

The pilot has separate controls for ailerons and flaps. A mixer is used to combine the
separate pilot input into this single set of control surfaces called flaperons. The use of
flaperons instead of separate ailerons and flaps can reduce the weight of an aircraft. The
complexity is transferred from having a double set of control surfaces (flaps and ailerons) to
the mixer.

Many designs that incorporate flaperons mount the control surfaces away from the wing to
provide undisturbed airflow at high angles of attack or low airspeeds.

Flaperons are a specialised type of aircraft flight control surface that combine aspects of
both flaps and ailerons. Flaperons respond to roll commands, made by the pilot via the control wheel
in the same manner as conventional ailerons. However, the flaperons can also be symmetrically
lowered to function similarly to a dedicated set of flaps. Pilot controls for lowering or raising the
flaperons are separate from those controlling the aileron function. A mixer is incorporated in the design
to combine the two pilot inputs appropriately

RUDDER PEDAL

Moving the left or right rudder pedal controls the rudder. When the
rudder is deflected into the airflow, a horizontal force is exerted in
the opposite direction. By pushing the left pedal, the rudder moves
left and creates a sideward lift that moves the tail to the right and
yaws the nose of the airplane to the left. Similarly when the right
pedal is pushed, the rudder moves to the right that moves the tail
to the left and yaws the nose of the airplane to the right.

SPEED BRAKES

The Boeing 777 is equipped with three hydraulic systems.

The left, center and right systems deliver hydraulic fluid
at a rated pressure of 3000 psig (207 bar) to operate flight
controls, flap systems, actuators, landing gear and brakes.

ELEVATOR
Elevators are hinge--mounted at the trailing
edge of the horizontal stabiliser. They are
operated by fore-and-aft movements of the
control column.
Elevators provide the longitudinal control
about the lateral axis. In the neutral position
of the control column the elevators are also
at neutral. The aircraft maintains a steady
altitude.
If the control column is moved back the
elevators move up. This creates a loss of lift
at the tail making it moving down. This downmovement of the tail causes the nose of the
aircraft to pitch upwards. The aircraft
assumes a climbing attitude.
If the control is moved forward the elevators move
down. There is an increase in stabiliser lift, which
makes the tail to move upwards. When the tail moves
up the nose of the aircraft pitches down and the
aircraft assumes a diving attitude.
