About the College


Maharani's Science College for women is a premier institution imparting quality
science education for girls from the past 75 years, housing all major science
departments affiliated to Bangalore University managed by Department of Higher
Education (Collegiate Education Section), Government of Karnataka. Presently the
College offers 13 undergraduate and 05 post graduate programmes. College Caters
to the need of higher education of large no. of rural students (women). College
comes under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC. The College is re-accredited with 'B' Grade by
NAAC with a grade point average of 2.78. With over 1,100 students, from under
graduate to post graduate studies, the campus is known for its salubrious
atmosphere, heritage culture, excellence in teaching, high degree of discipline, deep
mutual respect, abiding spirit of tolerance, strong appreciation for all cultures, deep
reverence for all religions, intense attachment to ethical values, state of the art
facilities, multiplicity of avenues for all round growth of the individual and efficient as
well as enlightened administration, drawing appreciative accolades from the
University as well as governmental bodies.

About the Department


The Department of Chemistry was established in 1938 as the largest Department
in the College providing both Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses. The post
graduate department of biochemistry is a part of Chemistry department established
in the year 2008. The deparment is associated with well equipped laboratories,
which enables research culture. One of the commendable contributions of the
department has been the creation and sustenance of a rigorous dynamic and vibrant
masters program in biochemistry that imparts conventional and new knowledge in
an innovative manner, which ensures that fresh, young minds are trained and
oriented to create newer knowledge in turn.

About the NCERAFIB-2015


The NCERAFIB-2015 aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers
and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results
about all aspects of biocatalysts in agriculture, food and industry. It also provides the
premier interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary forum for researchers and educators
to present and discuss the most recent innovations. The conference also provides
platform to discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted
in the field of biotechnology.

Objectives

To bring the working professionals, researchers, faculty members, industry and


academia to a common platform to share their views, knowledge, achievements
and advancements in the field of enzyme technology and its applications in
agriculture, food and industry
To expose the participants to the recent trends and the challenges in enzyme
technology through invited expert lectures.

To encourage faculty and researchers to present technical papers in order to


develop aptitude towards paper writing, presentation skills, R & D skills and so on.

Call for Abstracts


The Scientific Organizing Committee launches a call for oral and/or poster
communications. Everyone is invited to submit an abstract for the conference
themes and topics. Prospective researchers are strongly encouraged to
submit an abstract that might be selected for oral or poster presentation to be
e-mailed to ncerafib2015@gmail.com. Abstract submission will be closed
on February 28, 2015. When submitting your abstract, please follow the
guidelines below to what your abstract should include: - an introductory
statement that outlines the background and significance of the study - a
succinct description of the basic methodologies - a clear indication of the
major findings of the study - a concluding statement.
The best oral and poster presentation award will be given after due
evaluation.

Registration
A signed copy of the Registration Form along with the registration fee should
be sent by e-mail or by post to the Organizing Secretary on or before 28th
February 2015. The payment can be made via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in
favor of ``The Organizing Secretary, NCERAFIB-2015 payable at Bangalore.
The registration fee includes participation in the scientific programme and
local hospitality. OOD Facility for teachers will be provided as per the
Department of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Karnataka.
