As a concurrent event to Plastindia 2015, the Conference Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the International

Momentum of Gandhinagar

andhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat established as a modernized twin city of Ahmedabad. Located on the banks of the
River Sabarmati, this city was the residence of Mahatma Gandhi, who lived there for about twelve years. It was from this base
Gandhi led the Dandi march also known as the Salt Satyagraha on 12 March 1930

Today, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad are the Knowledge Hub of western India by establishing several educational institutions of
national and international repute, like Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), the National
Institute of Design (NID), Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), LD engineering college , Indian Institute of technology(IIT), Center
for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) and Space Applications Centre (SAC) of Indian Space Research Organization,
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University ( PDPU) Gujarat Vidhyapeeth, Gujarat Technological University( GTU) and many more
Besides this uniqueness of being developed as a Knowledge Corridor, Gandhinagar (including Ahmedabad, which is actually the
commercial capital of Gujarat) has so many other attractions too. Places to visit in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad are :The Adalaj
step-well built in 1499 A.D, Gujarat Science City, Akshardham- the Lord Swaminarayan temple , Gandhi Ashram (Sabarmati).
The world famous Somnath temple (the oldest and most revered temples of India) and the Gir Forest- National Park and Wildlife
Sanctuary is about 400 km from Ahmedabad
Climate: Apart from the monsoon season during mid-June to mid-September., the climate of Gandhinagar is normally dry. From
November to February, the average maximum temperature is around 29C (85F), the average minimum is 14C (57F), and the
climate is extremely dry
