OBJECTIVE : Students will be able to:
i. Get to know each other
ii. Understand the English Language syllabus & PMR exam format
iii. Write their problems and expectations in learning English Language.
CONTENT : English Language Syllabus, PMR examination format
ACTIVITIES :
1. Ice breaking session students are to come out with an adjective that starts with the initial letter of
their names.
2. Teacher lays out the rules and regulations for her class.
3. Teacher asks students some questions pertaining the subject.
4. Teacher refreshes students on basic topics & the PMR examination format.
5. Teacher distributes stick-on notes, students have to write their problems in
learning English Language and expectations in form 5.
6. Discussion of the students responses.

REFLECTION : The first lesson went well, students shared some interesting ideas for their expectations
in learning English. However, from the first session, it could be concluded that the students are still
unsure of the strategies in learning the subject. Something that the teacher had to ponder upon!

REFLECTION :The first lesson went well, students shared some interesting ideas for their expectations
in learning English. However, similar to the class the teacher entered earlier, it seemed that the
students are still not sure of the strategies in learning the subject. Definitely, something had to be
done!

THEME/TOPIC : ENVIRONMENT/ LEISURE
OBJECTIVE : Students will be able to:
i. Understand the Poem
ii. Write synopsis of the poem
CONTENT : synonyms
ACTIVITIES :
1. Teacher asks students to think of a verse in the Holy Koran about contemplating God's creation.
2. Students have to tell the the verses and they are allowed to refer to the Koran
3. Teacher asks students to read the poem 'Leisure'.
4. Discussion of the meanings in each couplet of the Poem.
5. Teachers asks students to write a synopsis of the poem based on their understandings of the
discussion with teacher.
MATERIALS : textbook, the Koran
ASSIMILATION : Science, Religion
EVALUATION: Students' ability to write the synopsis of the poem using own words
REFLECTION : A successful lesson in terms of students' understandings of the poem. 100% of them are
able to write the synopsis and they even give their own opinion on the importance of observing nature.
However, there is still room for improvement when it comes to their writing quality (grammar).

THEME/TOPIC : LITERATURE/LEISURE
OBJECTIVE : Students will be able to:
i.find synonyms for words in the poem
CONTENT : synonyms
ACTIVITIES :
1. Teacher asks students to give synonyms to the word 'leisure'.
2. In groups of 4, teacher asks each group to list down meanings for words in the poem on a piece of
mahjong paper.
3. Students paste the mahjong paper on the white board.
4. Teacher checks students' works and asks them to also check the words that their classmates have
came up with
5. Every student will have to copy the words from each of the mahjong paper.

EVALUATION: Students' ability to apply contextual clues in understanding certain words/phrases


REFLECTION : Lesson was postponed because of the welcoming ceremony of the new principal

THEME/TOPIC : PEOPLE AND VALUES / SPECIAL TIES
OBJECTIVE : Students will be able to:
i.read and reorganise ideas in chronological order
CONTENT : simple past tense
ACTIVITIES :
1. Teacher shows photos of people having fun together.
2. Teacher asks students few questions related to the photo.
3. Teacher explains about the main ideas and supporting details.
4. Students read an article about activity done with family members which is not in its chronological
order.
5. Based on their understanding of the difference between main ideas and supporting details (as
explained by teacher earlier), students are required to rewrite each sentence in the article in its correct
sequence.
6. Discussion of the answers and language used.
ASSIMILATION : HUMAN SCIENCE
EVALUATION: Students' ability to identify main ideas and supporting details.
REFLECTION: Lesson was postponed because of the Annual Club and Society Meeting
