InyourinstructiondiscisafoldernamedKitBreakdownThiswillhaveallthepartsand
picturestoexplainwhichpartsarewhichiffurtherclarificationisneeded.

1.Removerearsuspension,gastank,exhaust,plumbing,wiring,andtrunkcontentsasneeded.
Levelframewithananglefindertobasecomponentspecsduringtheinstallation
2.Removeexistingebrakecablebracketsonframerails(pictured)
3.Cleanandprepframerailsforinstallingfrontcrossmemberasneededforwelding.
4.Takethefrontcrossmembertubeends(C)andtrimtofitsnugbetweenframerailsdirectly
behindthebodymountnearesttheebrakecablebracketyoujustremoved.(pictured)
a.Bracketsshouldbuttuptothebodymountandbe~1/8"belowfloorboard(pictured),if
youwantthelowestrideheightsetting.Thelower4bartubebarholepatterncenterlineneeds
tobe90degreestothemainframerailsection.Useananglefinderoffthelowerfrontleading
edgeofthis4barbrackettoobtainthisspec.Thefrontcrossmember(C)canbemovedlowerto
raisetheoverallrideheightintherearofthecar.
b.Besuretotakeequalamountsoffeachendtokeepitcentered
c.Measurethecrossmember(C)fromoneoftheflatedgestotherearoftheframefor
squareness,
donottrustthebodymountstobesquare

Installupperframesupporttube(I)bymeasuring47fromthe
backoftherearchanneltoestablishthecenterline.Thetubecanbetrimmedtofitbetweenthe
rails,orusea1holesawtofitinsidetherails.
Shockcrosskit:
Measure29"fromthebackoftherearchanneltoestablishthebacktipsofthe
mount.Thisisaroughmeasurementandwillneedtobeadjustedaccordinglydependingon
whereyouputthefrontcrossmember.Alsonote,ona2pieceframe,youllneedtotrimthe
outboardlegofthemounttocompensateforthestepintheframe.
7.Mockupyourrearendwiththesuppliedparts(J)(O).
Note:
therearelongandshorttubes,
longtubesgoonthebottom,shortertubesonthetop.Multipleholesaresuppliedfor
nd
customizationpurposes,butformockup,usethe2
fromthetop&theverybottomholein(C).
Therodendsshouldbepreadjustedwithabout4threadsshowing,butdoublecheckonce
installed.Toadjust(J)simplybackoffthejamnutsandspinthebarbyhand.Thepinionangle
canbechangedbydoingthisonceyourfinalrideheightisestablished.
8.Withtherearendadjustedwiththedesiredwheelbaseandapproximatepinionangle,adjust

thelevelofthehousinginthechassiswherethelower4bars(J)areparalleltotheframe
(picture8.1).Boltuptheshockstothehousingwithsuppliedhardware(M)(picture8.2)
a.
Sidemountkitonly:
boltuptheuppershockholetopart(G)oneachside.They
shouldbepreassembledforeaseofuse,butifnot,checksuppliedpicture.Thepassengersside
shockwillcontactthefloorboardbeforeitsabletobeputintoplace.Thetrunkneedstobe
notchedforuppercoiloverclearancewiththeprovidedpatchpanel.Placethepanelinthe
appropriatepositiononyourtrunkfloorandtracearoundit.Cut
inside
thistracingfornow.
Setthepanelasidefornow,tobeweldedlast.Theshockshouldnowfitproperlyonbothsides.

Shockcrosskitonly:
Theuppershockcrossmembersetsatoptheframe(picture8b.1),and
willrequireasuppliedkickuppanel.(Picture8b.2shownwithminitubs,notrequired)

Sidemountkitonly:
Photoisforroughmeasurements.Markthesemeasurementsonthe
framerailsandtackthebracketmountingplatetotheframewhenyouresuretheshocks(A)
withthecoilsprings
(B)willclearthehousingtubesbyaminimumofinch.Thenylocknuts
dontneedtoberunintothenylontosavethemformockup(nylocksaretwouseonly).Also,if
provided,the3/8"24nutscanbeused.Thetopofthebracketmayextendabovethetopofthe
frame,thisisnormal.Thebracketsneedtobealignedwiththeshocksbymockingeverythingup
asaccuratelyaspossiblebeforefinalwelding.
10.Yourgoalistoconnectthebottomfrontfaceofthecrossmember(C)totheframeasshown
withtheJbracetubeThisisastrictlytrimtofitjob,aseveryframeisdifferent.(Picture10.1
&10.2)
11.Thediagonallink,ortracklocatorbar(Picture11.1)runsdriverssidefronttopassengers
siderear,bothusingthelowerbolt(Picture11.2)andsuppliedhardware(L)thatshouldbe
preassembledforsimplicity.Thelink(P)canbeadjustedthesamewayasthe4bartubes.
12.TheQA1coilovershocks(A)have12settingswiththethumbscrewslocatedatthebottom.
Forfinalassembly,besuretolubethethreadsontheshocksgenerouslywithantiseize
compoundorgoodbearinggrease.Youcanadjusttherideheighteasierwiththeseinstalled,and
evenmoresoifthecarisonjackstands.
13.Nowwouldbeagoodtimetoadjustyourpinionangle,toroughlyparallelwiththeframeat
rideheight.
14.Whensatisfiedwiththefitofallcomponents,removeanyrubberleftonthecar(theshocks
andbodymountsspecifically)andfinishwelding.

Therearendhousingisavailablewithallthebracketsprofessionallyweldedinthecorrect
position,includingpinionangle.Thecompletedhousingcanbesuppliedbare,orpowdercoated
tomatchyourframe,withathirdmember,airvent,drainplug,fillcap,brakesinstalled,brake
linesinstalled,andmanymoreoptions.
