2 Overview
2.1Solution Overview
Huawei Mass Transit eLTE Multiple Service and Unified Bearer Solution uses the Enterprise Long-Term
Evolution (eLTE) network for multimedia trunking, Passenger Information System (PIS), Closed-Circuit
Television (CCTV), and Communication-Based Train Control System (CBTC) services instead of using
traditional WLAN and TETRA train-to-ground wireless communications networks.
Multimedia trunking: provides voice dispatching and commands, dispatching of production instructions (data +
voice), device data collection, industry user device/site video surveillance, and on-site video backhaul.
PIS: provides video collection, processing, and play control as well as system management. Onboard video
provides passengers information services such as train arrivals, departures, and delays.
CBTC: guarantees train controls that report train locations in real time and perform train completeness tests.
Huawei Mass Transit eLTE Multiple Service Unified Bearer Solution V100R001C00 implements PIS and CCTV
services through the eLTE train-to-ground wireless communications network. CBTC and multimedia trunking
service will be implemented in later versions.

2.2Test Roadmap
Huaweis Mass Transit eLTE Multiple-Service Unified Bearer Solution V100R001C00 transports eLTE-based PIS
and CCTV services. In the actual test process, there is a lack of PIS and CCTV system materials. Use test tools to
simulate service data flows based on corresponding service models. The entire integration test is divided into a
static test inside labs and a high-speed travel test outside the lab.
1)

The static test inside labs focuses on network performance indicators such as basic broadband access
functions, end-to-end latency, packet loss, QoS, inter-cell switching, and reliability. This test reveals
potential risks, ensuring proper eLTE-based PIS and CCTV services in static situations.

2)

The high-speed travel test deploys eLTE wireless coverage on roadsides. It uses vehicles mounted with
PIS and CCTV service terminals in place of trains to perform high-speed, dynamic vehicle tests, and
verifies the feasibility of eLTE-based PIS and CCTV services at high speeds.

Product line managers shall select models and perform test acceptance for subsolutions involving a single type of
product, a single type of purchased parts, or a single product line. For specifications and features, see the
attachment, eLTE3.1 Product Specifications. This solution provides no detailed verification.

Management System (NMS), multicast video, video surveillance, data management, dispatching
management, and LTE wireless network management.

3)

Base stations are divided into Baseband Units (BBUs) and Remote Radio Units (RRUs) for wireless
transmission.

4)

Terminals include the TAU600, which is used as a data terminal to access onboard data and video
information.
