PART 1 - GENERAL

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 MATERIALS

A. Stainless Steel Sheet: ASTM A 240/A 240M, steel sheet; Type 304, directional satin finish.

1. All seams welded.

2. All exposed edges deburred and sanded smooth.

B. Aluminum Plate and Sheet: ASTM B209 (ASTM B 209M), Alloy 6061-T6.

2.2 STEEL UNITS

A. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Model No.:

15-8950-BK Standard Kwik (Book) Drop Ensemble and Model No.: 15-8950-AV Standard
Kwik (A/V) Drop Ensemble manufactured by Kingsley Companies or approved equal products
as determined by Architect.

1. Exterior Construction: All stainless steel exterior face plate, weather shroud, depository
door and entry chute.
a. Exterior portion of chute has an upward angle and is welded to the bottom of the
weather shield.
b. Depository door has a spring-loaded hinge welded in place and is completely
weatherstripped.

2. Interior Construction Materials:

a. Chute Housing: All stainless steel sides and top cover.
b. Chute: Stainless steel.
c. Locking Plates: Aluminum.
d. Air-Block: Decco Neoprene rubber panels, Type A Shore durometer hardness of
40.

3. Interior Construction Methods:

a. Chute sides and top cover are welded in place.
b. Chute housing and chute are welded together.
c. Chute assembly forms the housing bottom and is smooth without holes or ridges.
d. Rear cover is screw-attached.
e. Locking cover plate is screw-attached to the top rear of the chute housing and
contains the external locking lever.

4. Dimensions:
a. Overall Finished: 20 in. wide by 25-1/2 in. long by 22-1/4 in. high (508 mm by
647.7 mm by 565.2 mm).
b. External Faceplate: 20 in. wide by 13 in. high by 12-3/4 in. deep (508 mm by 330
mm by 324 mm).
c. Interior Chute Assembly: 15-11/16 in wide by 19-13/16 in. long by 19-15/16 in.
high (398 mm by 503 mm by 506 mm).
d. Depository Opening: 15-1/8 in. by 3-7/8 in. high (384.2 mm by 98.4 mm).

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

A. External Rough-Cut Dimensions: 11-1/4 in. high by 18-1/4 in. wide (268 mm by 464 mm).

1. Maximum dimension from finished floor to bottom of rough-cut opening: 40-3/4 in.
(1035.1 mm).

B. Interior Rough-Cut and Trim: Maintain 3 in. (76.2 mm) horizontal from front to back, then
angle 90 degrees downward 7 in. (177.8 mm) ands continue horizontally through back of wall.

 1. Trim: Sides and back of opening shall be trimmed with 3/4-inch thick wood panel for

a. Outer Shell: 0.050-in.- (1.27-mm-) thick aluminum sheet.
b. Bottom: 0.063-in.- (1.6-mm-) thick aluminum sheet with access opening.
c. Handle: 1-inch- (25.4-mm-) steel handle.
d. Liner: Denier/polyester blend.
e. Casters: Four, corner-located, two swivel and two lock.
