Number of SIM/USIM1 (Subscriber Identity Module/Universal Subscriber Identity Module) cards which, since the commercial launch of the service, have been
authenticated and registered at least once on the network of the mobile operator, being enabled for use of any one of the characteristic UMTS network services
(i.e. video-call or broadband data transmission).
Cards which have been deactivated prior to the end of the period being reported are excluded2.
Migrations from SIM GSM to USIM UMTS should be considered, where applicable.
1.1. Number of SIM/USIM1 (Subscriber Identity Module/Universal Subscriber Identity Module) cards which, during the period being reported, have been
authenticated and registered at least once on the network of the mobile operator, being enabled for use of any one of the characteristic UMTS network services
(i.e. video-call or broadband data transmission).
Cards which have been deactivated prior to the end of the period being reported are excluded2.
Migrations from SIM GSM to USIM UMTS should be considered, where applicable.
2.
Number of SIM/USIM1 (Subscriber Identity Module/Universal Subscriber Identity Module) cards which have established at least one PDP (Packet Data Protocol)
session for accessing the Internet (APN Internet - Internet Access Point Name).
Cards which have been deactivated prior to the end of the period being reported are excluded2.
Migrations from SIM GSM to USIM UMTS should be considered, where applicable.
2.1. Number of SIM/USIM1 (Subscriber Identity Module/Universal Subscriber Identity Module) cards which, during the period being reported, have established at
least one PDP (Packet Data Protocol) session for accessing the Internet (APN Internet - Internet Access Point Name).
Cards which have been deactivated prior to the end of the period being reported are excluded2.
Migrations from SIM GSM to USIM UMTS should be considered, where applicable.
(1)
The type of card used is the choice of the operator in any one of the UMTS Releases. Its use may be based on the ICC (Integrated Circuit Card) for the 2G network, commonly
called SIM or on the UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card). The later may support the USIM application for UMTS such as additionally 2G inherited SIM application.
(2)
The information sent would therefore describe the variable concerned at the end of the period.
3.1. Number of videocalls telephony communications with simultaneous voice and image -, measured in number of calls.
Informao estatstica UMTS - Definies
PS (packet switched) Traffic originated on UMTS network number of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
The fields with reference to this indicator do not require completion. Only the fields in respect of indicators 4.1 to 4.4. require completion.
4.1. Traffic in respect of APN Internet sessions, measured in number of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
4.2. Traffic in respect of APN MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service Access Point Name) sessions, measured in number of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
4.3. Traffic in respect of APN WAP (Wireless Access Protocol Access Point Name) sessions, measured in number of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
4.4. Corporate services traffic in respect of APN (Access Point Name) sessions, measured in number of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
The intention is to compile information on corporate APN traffic where the IP connection to the corporate network of the client is initiated by the operator (VPN
tunnel or dedicated link). The intention is not for traffic of direct access to the Internet, irrespective of being unencrypted or encrypted.
5.
Volume of PS (packet switched) traffic originated on UMTS network volume of PDP (Packet Data Protocol) sessions.
The fields with reference to this indicator do not require completion. Only the fields in respect of indicators 5.1 to 5.4. require completion.
5.1. Volume of traffic associated with APN Internet sessions, measured in MB (megabytes).
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
5.2. Volume of traffic associated with APN MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service Access Point Name) sessions, measured in MB (megabytes).
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
5.3. Volume of traffic associated with APN WAP (Wireless Access Protocol Access Point Name) sessions, measured in MB (megabytes).
In view of the technical difficulties manifested by the operators, the traffic mentioned above, regardless of the network used, should be counted with respect to
this indicator.
5.4. Volume of traffic associated with APN (Access Point Name) sessions, measured in MB (megabytes).
The intention is to compile information on corporate APN traffic where the IP connection to the corporate network of the client is initiated by the operator (VPN
tunnel or dedicated link). The intention is not for traffic of direct access to the Internet, irrespective of being unencrypted or encrypted.
