Thermography

provides thermography services for most industrial applications in the

manufacturing, processing, printing, gas and oil, aggregates and mining, chemical
and pharmaceutical industries. cement industries, sugar industries , commercial
users , roofing applications and other applications
thermography is the method of inspecting various equipment by obtaining heat
distribution pictures. the inspecting method is based on the fact the equipment
temperature will increase before they fails. The increase in temperature in an
electrical circuit could be due to loose connections or a worn bearing, lubrication
problem in case of mechanical equipment.

Infrared light or thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and

measurement camera to "see" and "measure" thermal energy emitted from
an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its
wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye
infrared radiation was discovered by astronomer sir "william hershel" in
1800, who discovered a type of invisible radiation in the spectrum lower in
energy than red light by means of its effect upon a thermometer. Slightly
more than half of the total energy from the Sun was eventually found to
arrive on Earth in the form of infrared. The balance between absorbed and
emitted infrared radiation has a critical effect on Earth's climate
thermographic camera detect radiation in the infrared range of
electromagnetic spectrum in the infrared range of electromagnetic spectrum
produced images of that radiation, called thermograms, the thermograms is
the study of heat distribution in the structure or any body,

heat can be transfer by three methods

conduction
convection
radiation

CONDUCTION:
conduction is transferring heat from one object to another
through direct contact, heat transfers primarily occurs in solid some extent in
fluid as warmer molecules transfer their energy directly to cooler for an
example conduction is experienced when touching the warm mug of coffee
CONVECTION:
convection is transferring heat by mass motion of a fluid such as air
or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat,
carrying energy with it

RADIATION:
transfer of energy through electromagnetic waves that is heat is transfer from sun
to earth is called radiation
SOME OF THE APPLICATION :
inspection of electrical equipment such as relays, insulators, capacitors , switches
and electrical installation etc , in mechanical equipments such as Bearings, Gears ,
Drive Belts, Couplings , Shafts, Pumps etc and also used in inspection of refractory
structures of process plants. and other heat transfer application etc.
