1. Introduction
This is a network evaluation report before Re-farming. We follow the following principles to do
series of drive tests.
Full coverage peak time typical period.
All services: CS/GPRS/EDGE, 2G/2G handover and 2G / 3G reselection are tested.
So it is an overall period, overall scene, and overall operation test.

1.1. Subject Background


This report presents drive test results, CQT in peak time before Re-farming.

Drive test result are shown to estimate the coverage and quality before Re-faming.
The KPIs selected will show the network performance before Re-faming.

2.4. Test Equipment


Table lists the data collection test equipment required for each test vehicle.

1.6GHz CPU speed. At least 768MB RAM and 30GB HDD. One for each
team.
A GPS Receiver is used to provide position data for the Drive Test tool. At
least one per test van. Each GPS receiver shall have anexternal antenna.
Normal GSM test phone *3Plus Test and analysis platform
DC power to theequipment in the RF Kit for each phone. An inverter to supply
ACpower to the laptop computers.

2.5. Test Methods


The drive test procedure is defined as:

Long Call

Dedicated test will evaluate the

MSset a MOC Call. If the call drops, a new call is


established after 15 sec. In case of Refused Call (call
establishment failure), a call re-attempt is performed
after 15 sec.

Short Call

Dedicated test will evaluate the


Network Access performance for
the voice service.

MSset a loop of MOC Call with 120 second and 10


secondinterval, If the call drops, a new call is
established after 10 sec. When there is a Refused Call
(call establishment failure), a call re-attempt is
performed after 10 sec.

Idle mode

Idle mode test will evaluate the


network radio link performance.

MS need keep the UE on idle mode without MOC or


MTC.

Walk test will evaluate the indoor


Network performance(Coverage,
CS and PS performance, Cell
Reselection from 2G to 3G).

MS set a MOC call. If the call drops, a new call is


established after 15 sec. In case of Refused Call (call
establishment failure), a call re-attempt is performed
after 15 sec.
Keep online and download files from the FTP server in
CQT mode
Check for 2G to 3G Cell Reselection on all CQT Points

7.8. Conclusion
This report shows cluster05 network DT performance analysis before&after swap. Overall coverage (like rx level,
rx quality, C/I average, TX Power CS) is better from pre swap. CS KPIs (like call setup success rate, call drop
rate, handover success rate, call setup delay time) are also improved after swap. In all CQTs DL & UL throughput
have have shown improvement.We are looking forward to have closer cooperation with Omantel in future, to
provide more of our world leading products and services for Omantel.
