Materials of Construction
All tank vessels will be fabricated of 1/4" structural grade ASTM designation A-36 steel
plates joined by arc welding with fillets of adequate section for the joint involved. All walls
will be continuous and watertight and will be supported by structural reinforcing members
where required. Connections will conform to the requirements of the American Welding
Society's Code and will develop the full strength of the member.
All piping within the plant will be Schedule 40 steel pipe except as may be noted otherwise
in other sections of the specifications or called for on the plans.
In this first chamber all contaminants are broken down and digested by the the action of the
BioCleaner Bacteria Mixture.
Initial Raw Sewage Flow, Air Diffuser are installed throughout Primary an Secondary Chambers.
The BioCleaner container reactor uses a combination of aeration and constant bacteria
production & to established a permanent colony to degrade organic matter.
Primary and Secondary Chambersare connected in the bottom by a baffle, located 6m away
from the inflow pipe. The Biotube that is constantly producing BACTERIA , is located in the
Bottom & in the Middle of the Baffle wide wise, to feed Bacteria to BOTH Primary and
Secondary Chambers .
For a Design Treatment our Container are versitle and be be used as different modules such as
Primary Treatment Secondary and Tertiary Treatment. In this schematic.
The 20 ft container has 30m3 of water in volume.
It is an Aerobic container with a 1.5m biotube inside which is an established colony of immobilized
microbes.
The microbes are stored in ceramic pellets and are activated once introduced to the waste stream
and tube is injected with air.

Service Walkways
A service walkway will be provided to service the plant equipment. Grating panels will each
consist of one-piece skid resistant steel plank. All grating panels will be constructed of 18
gauge, galvanized steel sheet. Each grating panel has a standard 6 or 9" surface width
and a 2 1/2 " rib depth. Each panel will be supported to insure a safe uniform load carrying
capacity of 80 pounds per square foot. On doublewide plants, the service walkways will be
provided with handrails.
Service Handrails
Service handrails will be provided for all standard PCS doublewide tanks. Service Handrails
are supplied with mounting flanges for bolting into place. The rails and posts are fabricated
from 1-1/4 diameter schedule 40 carbon steel pipe. Longer sections of hand railing are
spliced to allow for easier handling and installation. Carbon steel handrails are painted with
enamel paint, black or safety yellow. Due to shipping limitations, handrails are shipped
loose for field mounting by the field contractor.
Ultra-Violet Desinfection
Ultra-Violet Disinfection units are available as an alternative means for effluent
disinfection.
For below grade filter installations, the UV modules are mounted in a stainless steel
channel, which is located in an integral chamber after the clearwell overflow weir trough.
For above grade installations, the UV module will be provided with inlet and outlet transition
connection boxes. This will produce a freestanding structure to be located off the filter
structure on a concrete pad. These boxes will contain connections for flanged inlet and
outlet piping.
Cathodic Protection (Below Grade Installations)
For cathodic protection for tanks partially or fully buried, ____, 17-pound magnesium anode
packages will be supplied. Anodes should be buried by the field contractor, adjacent to the
sides of the vessel and securely connected thereto by heavy copper wire in good electrical
contact with the connector lugs on the steel vessel.
Guarantee BioCleaner (BC)
BC will guarantee for one (1) year from the date of shipment that the vessel and all
component equipment will be free from defective materials and workmanship. BC will
furnish replacement parts for any component considered in the opinion of BC to be
defective, whether of his or other manufacturer during the guarantee period.
MAGNESIUM ANODES
UNDERGROUND USE
The Harco Corporation Packaged Magnesium Anodes are the most widely used
material for the application of cathodic protection on underground installations.
Corrosion is an electrochemical reaction based on universal laws of nature. All metallic
structures corrode. It is just a question of how quickly. The job of the corrosion
engineer is to slow down or halt this process by using cathodic protection in the form of
Magnesium Anodes.
Anodes are typically installed in a vertically augered hole to a depth of 3 to 5 and also
3 to 5 away from the tank. The hole diameter shall be such to easily accommodate the
size of the anode. After the hole is augered, the packaged anode is lowered in, and soil
is firmly tamped around the package so it is in intimate contact with the package.
Lead wires from the anodes are run underground and are connected to the tank via the
anode connectors. Additional lengths of #12 AWG copper wire with Type TW insulation
can be used if additional length lead wire is required.
