Adirondack Mountain Clubs
Outdoor Expo
Want to get outdoors but not sure what
you can do or where? The Adirondack
Mountain Clubs Outdoor Expo is the
place to start! Stroll down a shaded
path and check out displays and talk
with members of local outdoors clubs
and suppliers while listening to live
music provided by the Golden Link
Folk Singing Society. If youve never
tried a canoe or kayak, head on down
to the beach where the local boat
vendors are and try them out. Crafts
are available for the kids. Food and ice
cream are available. For the past 17
years, the Genesee Valley Chapter of the
Adirondack Mountain Club has been
hosting an Outdoor Expo at Mendon
Ponds Park. The Genesee Valley Chapter
has organized this for the purpose of
promoting outdoor recreation. The goal
is to provide a single place where folks
interested in the outdoors can get information about whats available locally,
what organizations are available and
what they do, meet people with similar
interests, attend over 70 workshops
aimed at these interests and have fun!
Local outdoor clubs and vendors are
welcome to come set up a table, booth
or tent or do a demonstration. Anything
they have to offer is pretty much fair
game. Past years have included such
things as hang gliders, hot air balloons
and gliders. The Expo has grown each
year, both in size and attendance,
