WARRANTY
A.
B.
Operate and maintain the Water Treatment Plant for a trial period of one (1) month. During
this period, all parts of the plant shall be examined for function, strength, water tightness
and sound performance. If any part installed or constructed by the Contractor is found
faulty on testing, the part shall be rectified or replaced by new and examined again until the
Engineer approves all works. All equipment, chemicals, spare parts, personnel and other
requirements for testing, operating and maintaining the plant during the trial period shall be
provided by the Contractor.

ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS
Not Used.
2.02
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
A.
The Plant shall be designed to produce disinfected potable water with a TDS not more than
300 mg/l and an irrigation water quality with TDS of 800 mg/l.
B.
Raw water shall be extracted from the raw water storage tank filled from the well. Boosted
raw water will then be fed to the pre-treatment filtration.
C.
Water shall pass through media filters using sand and anthracite with a SDI less than 3.
D.
Dosing of filtered water by proprietary sequestrant shall then take place to inhibit the
formation of fouling scales in the reject of the R.O. membrane by the inhibition of the
crystalline formation.
E.
Water shall then pass through 5-micron cartridge filters to protect the R.O. membrane.
F.
Chemically conditioned water shall then be pressurized by high pressure centrifugal pump
and passed to the reverse osmosis module for production of low total dissolved solid
product water by reverse osmosis and discharge of concentrate reject brine water to reject
brine tank.
G.
Product water shall be treated with chlorine to acceptable levels for drinking water.

Project Specification
A.
The final water produced from the treatment plant shall comply with the water standards
specified. Blending of filtered raw water with the R.O. product shall be permitted to give
the required final water quality.
B.
The Plant shall be equipped with all interconnecting pipework and measuring gauges,
together with all appropriate electrical equipment.
C.
The following treatment plant characteristics are envisaged, related to the ultimate water
consumption:
1. Water Consumption: 930 m/day.
2. Water Use: Potable/Irrigation.
3. Raw Water Quality: To be analyzed by the Contractor.
4. Source Water Supply: From deep well to be determined by the Contractor.
5. Treated water quality: TDS not more than 300 mg/l for potable water and 800 mg/l for
irrigation.
6. R.O. recovery: 75% minimum.
