Robin Hood and Little John

Long ago, England was ruled by the wicked, greedy Prince John. He ordered his men
to tax the people so heavily that some were become outlaws. Two of the famous
outlaws were Robin Hood and Little John, who would steal the tax money from the
sheriff and give it back to the poor.
One day Prince John was travelling by a fancy cart to Nottingham to pick up more
tax money. He was so busy counting his gold that he didnt notice he was passing
through Sherwood Forest, the home of Robin Hood. He also didnt see Little John and
Robin Hood watching from a tree. Look at all that gold. Hey! Little John, lets pay
Prince John a little visit!
In his cart, Prince John was talking to his counselor about his favorite subject.
Goldbeautiful gold! Life has been so wonderful since King Richard left for the
Crusades. He treated people too nicely and he missed out on all this lovely gold.
How I love gold!
Robin Hood and Little John were standing by the roadside and disguised as lady
fortune tellers when the cart passed by. Care to have your fortune told, Your
Majesty? asked Robin Hood.
Uhhh..Fortune-Tellers! How amusing! Stop the cart!
While Robin Hood told Prince Johns fortune, he slipped the royal rings off the
Princes fingers, and Little John quietly sneaked to the princes gold chest and took
it. Prince John never even knew he had been robbed until Robin and Little John had
escaped.
The Prince cursed, Arrgghh..How dare those outlaws take away my precious Gold!
They will pay for this. They will pay with their lives
One day, Robin gave a birthday present to his little best friend Skippy.
Here, Skippy, take my bow and arrow, and heres my hat. Its a little big, but youll
grow into it.
The first time Skippy tried the bow, his arrow flew over Prince Johns castle wall!
When Robin Hood tried to sneak to take the arrow, on the other side, Robin saw
Maid Marian. She was Robins friend. Hi, Robin, what brings you to come here?
smiled Marian. She was nice and kind. Long ago, they had been childhood
sweethearts. No..nothing, Marian. I was just passing by. Robin blushed. Oh boy,
Marian is so beautiful today.
Couple days later, Robins friend, Friar Tuck, came to Sherwood Forest with some
news.

Prince John is having an archery tournament tomorrow. And youre the best archer
in all of England! told he to Robin.
Id like to go, Friar Tusk. But if I do, Im sure to be captured. Said Robin
Maid Marian will give a kiss for the winner.
Oodelally! What are we waiting for? Lets go for the tournament! shouted Robin
excitingly.
The next day, two strangers appeared at the tournament, a man in black hood,
which was Robin, and a duke, which was Little John.
Nobody will recognize us in these disguises, said Robin Hood. Ill win the
tournament and the kiss. But no one will know the winner is Robin Hood.
Robin was very good at archery. He even hit the farthest posts bull eye. And even
though the Sheriff tried to cheat by having the target moved, Robin made an
amazing shot and won.
When Robin came to claim his prize, Prince John was ready. He said, And now I
name you . the loser. Seize him! I sentence you to sudden, instant, and even
immediate death!
Robin Hood was surprised and got captured. It looked like the end for Robin Hood.
But suddenly Little John grabbed Prince John form behind, Let my friend go or
else!
Once Robin was free, a big fight began.
Robin Hood and Little John fought off the guards bravely. Swords clashed and arrows
flew! While Maid Marian was captured by the guards too, but Robin climbed a pole,
grabbed a rope, and swung down to her rescue. Then he and his friends escaped
into the woods.
It was another losing day for the Prince. While Robin Hood, soon he married Marian
and continued stealing the tax to help the poor people.
