Benefits of sports
Although research interest on physical activity and health dates back to the 1950s,
the breakthrough in the scientific evidence on health benefits of physical activity largely
took place during the 1980s and 1990s. There is an overwhelming amount of scientific
evidence on the positive effects of sport and physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The positive, direct effects of engaging in regular physical activity are
particularly apparent in the prevention of several chronic diseases, including:
cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, depression and
osteoporosis.
The Report from the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Sport
for Development and Peace states that young people can benefit from physical
activity as it contributes to developing healthy bones, efficient heart and lung
function as well as improved motor skills and cognitive function. Physical
activity can help to prevent hip fractures among women and reduce the effects of
osteoporosis. Remaining physically active can enhance functional capacity among older
people, and can help to maintain quality of life and independence.
Playing sports generally is good for your health. For most people, taking part in sport
improves your general health and wellbeing. There are plenty of reasons why you should
become involved in sport with reduced body fat, bone strengthening, improved stamina and
flexibility being some of the reasons why you should take up a sport. Clearly, sports will
improve your fitness and weight goals. However, healthy lifestyle also encourage healthy
decisions such as not smoking or drinking and offer hidden health benefits.

a new sport:

For exemple, Taekwondo strengthens your body and improves your health through
physical exercise and conditioning. Isometric and dynamic tension exercises will allow you
to gain better muscle tone and more strength. A gradual building process of safe and easy

stretching techniques will enhance flexibility, while breathing and
concentration exercises lead to sharper reflexes and senses. The
discipline of Taekwondo leads to increase energy, better health and
fitness, greater coordination, and higher self-esteem. These qualities
are vital to a happier, longer life.
Playing sports in a team enables you to create friendships you otherwise might not
have formed. Sports bring teens together from different schools, backgrounds, and
communities. Many times, the friendships you create on the field remain intact even when
you are not playing sports. The fans on the sidelines are one of the most important parts of
the game. The constant support of your parents helps you to feel good about yourself and
strengthens your connection to them. As a teen, it is not always easy to find time to
spend time with your parents. Sports give you and your parents time to appreciate
one another.
Blood circulation gets better when you start playing sports. This helps in
the proper circulation of nutrients all over your body. The body remains well
oxygenated, it remains more healthy and active. Apart from blood circulation,
being physically active can also increase the amount of hemoglobin and the
volume of blood.
Regularly indulging in exercise and sports makes the body immune to many diseases
that usually affect a person due to weak immunity. When a person exercises, the rate at
which white blood cells reach every body part increases significantly. The exact manner that
sports increase immunity is not known yet. Playing sports increases sweat production and
may also remove toxins. This also helps the body to remain healthy. Due to the rise in body
temperature, the chances of bacterial growth also lessens.
Muscles are the part of body that participate most actively when you play sports.
Sports are actually the best form of working out for muscles. Toned muscles are always
desirable and thats what you get when you play sports. The endurance of muscles also
increases with time and this helps you in gaining a stronger body. Both inner and outer
muscles get toned up when one plays any sport. For example, running involves working out
both the inner and outer thigh muscles.
Sports can bring positivity into your life, if played in a healthy manner. It refreshes
the mind and helps in developing a positive and fresh outlook towards life. Discipline
becomes a natural part of life when one starts spending time playing sports. This is because
sports inspire the person to live life by certain rules and regulations and move towards a
positive end.
People who indulge in sports feel healthier and develop better and healthier
relationships with others because a positive, team-based outlook is instilled in them. Sports
train your mind to think calmly and find new strategies to deal with problems without
getting too hyper.
All in all, are several advantages and benefits of sports. Sports are required by people
to be fit, smart, and good looking, are entertaining due to many facts and are the huge
market for countries economies. Many people cant believe that sports are useful and
beneficial. I hope that in the future these people will atend to be more optimistically to
sports since they are the neccessity of our lives.
