The action packed day was added with English Month Activity by few performances in
conjunction with the English Month. Singing performance by Lower Primary students, Poem
recitation and also storytelling. It is hope that with such activity it will build platform for
students to be confident to speak in public and also improve their language skills.

GOALS / VISION
To achieve excellence in public examinations, namely PMR, and SPM.
To produce excellent results in school-based examinations.

PMR examinations-118 candidates [65.2%] scored A (2008)
Target for 2009-70% candidates scoring A
SPM examination- candidates scored 1A and 2A (2007)
Target for 2009-77 candidates to score 1A and 2A.

1. Chairpersons speech
1.1 Meeting began with the reciting of the Al-fatihah and chaired by Pn Nurbaya bt
Edrus. She welcomed all the English teachers teaching the lower form and
thanked them for the support and cooperation given.She explained that the
meeting was held with regards to the Pentaksiran Lisan Berasaskan Sekolah
[PLBS] and some changes that have to be done when carrying out the
assessment this year.
2. Briefing of Implementation of PLBS
2.1 Pn Nurbaya informed the teachers the requirements to carry out the PLBS.
2.1.1 Head assessor [school level] Pn Nurbaya bt Edrus. She will be assisted by the
other assessors who will conduct the PLBS according to the classes taught.
2.1.2 The letter of appointment as school assessors has been issued to the
respective teachers by the school and a copy of the appointment letter for
each respective teacher is kept in the administrative file.
2.1.3 The oral must be carried out at least twice and maximum four
times.Assessment for form 3 must be done by mid June whereas for form 1
and 2 by the end of August.
2.1.4 Teachers /assessors must inform the students that they are being assessed
and
the students have the right to know the grades or marks they have obtained
after the assessment. Students who wish to improve their grades should be
given the chance to be assessed a few times until they achieved their
target.Only the final or the best result will be recorded in the form of marks.
2.1.5 Parents will be notified of their childrens progress at the end of each term.
3. Other matters
3.1 Pn Wan Norizan informed the teachers that she will get ready the scoring forms
as soon as possible.She reminded the teachers to complete the first assessment
and sent in their files to her by Ist July 2009.
3.2 Pn Nurbaya requested the teachers to keep the materials presented for the
assessment in the respective class files.The coordinators for each form are
reminded to complete the score file and sent in to Pn Wan Norizan by 1st July
2009.
6.1 Pn Nurbaya reminded all teachers to prepare their desk files respectively as
soon possible.
6.2 Pn Wan Norizan also requested the English Language Panel management file
to be completed too.
Action to be taken: All panel members
7 Proposed teachers allocation for 2010
7.1 The proposed English teacher allocation for 2010 is done and submitted to
Head of Language Department for further action. [ Appendix 2 ]
8 Proposed programme for 2010
8.1 All English teachers are encouraged to submit any suggestions for the panels
programme for 2010 by 18th November 2009.
8.2 Programmes can include
8.2.1 collaboration between English and Malay Language panels eg activities
during the language month
8.2.2 participation from schools in Pasir Puteh
8.2.3 non-exam classes [ form 1, 2, 4 and lower 6 ]
8.2.4 programme budget
9 Other Matters
9.1 Task allocation for yearly / annual scheme of work
9.1.1 The respective teachers are required to prepare and distribute the scheme
of work on 30th December 2009 and make sure to include the date and week as
done in 2009.

2) Monthly Test
2.1 Marks for the monthly test must be written in the teachers record book.
2.2 The English Panel Form Coordinators are reminded to take the TOV and ETR
from the respective coordinators and distribute to the respective English
teachers.
6) PPSMIT Programmes
6.1 Classes for the Maths and Science teachers will commence on 10 February
2009.
Schedules are distributed and facililators are reminded to get ready their
materials and
conduct the class according to the date specified.
6.2 Maths and Science teachers who obtained band 4 and band 5 are invited to
be the facililators
7) Other Matters
7.1 Teachers are reminded to use various methods of teaching approaches to
cater the students of different learning abilities
7.2 Lesson should be more students centred
7.3 The list of books requested has been given to the Head of Language
Department and
Chief Clerk for action.

At last, the carnival ends today, and today is the time to presenting all the prizes
to all the winner of all competitions that was held for a month in July 2012. The
prizes presented by The Head Mistress of SK Likas, Madam Marianah binti Mohd
Yusuf and followed by all the Senior Assistant Teachers. It was a huge
commitment from all the English Language teachers that assuring these
programs succeed and achieved its goal to make pupils enjoys in learning English
Language.
