GENERAL GUIDELINES
Purpose/Scope
This work package encompasses all

requirements for electrical system walk


downs to verify integrity and completeness
of the system according to the designed
and approved F&IDs and electrical
drawings, to include all systems and
subsystem unique to the package. The
electrical package walk down is the initial
observation to verify installation
completeness.

Precautions
Ensure drawing numbers and supplied equipment are as
specified.
Special attention should be given to cableways, conduit
routing, and terminations to ensure proper construction
guidelines were followed. Walk each system from start
to finish and ensure the following:
Ensure all cableways are free of debris.
Inspect cableways, instruments, and other
components for damage.
Verify signal wire and power lead separation.
Ensure all box covers and bulkhead penetrations are
sealed.
Ensure cabinets and ductworks are clean.
Verify cable ratings are acceptable for application.

TASKS
1.

Inspect for visible damage to any cable or termination.

2.

Check mounted instruments for proper installation and application.

3.

Verify cables and connectors are properly fixed with appropriate brackets.

4.

Check cable freedom of movement and ensure no chafing occurs.

5.

Check all junction boxes and conduit for integrity of installation.

6.

Verify gas turbine package against electrical drawings.

7.

Verify control wiring diagram against installation.

8.

Ensure proper installation of wire ways.

9.

Check manufacturers connections, all grounding, and field connections for loose
terminations.

10.

Check nameplates and identification tags to ensure instruments, cables, etc. are
properly labeled.

11.

Inspect for damage of vent dampers and door switches.

12.

Verify the following records have been updated;
