Objectives
To discuss with the participants issues in teaching
approaches to text analysis
To provide a venue to examine literary texts critically
To demonstrate knowledge in New Criticism,
Feminist Criticism, Marxist Criticism,
Deconstructionism, Structuralism, Reader-Response
Theory
To discuss with the participants issues related to the
teaching of creative writing
To enable them to demonstrate knowledge of
strategies in teaching creative writing in English and
Filipino
To allow them to comment on others work to
encourage excellence in writing
To enable them to organize editing groups where
participants share their work with others
To strengthen the participants knowledge of
journalistic writing, broadcast journalism and the
process of school paper production
To enhance their skills in journalistic writing, radio
broadcasting and broadcast journalism
To improve their ability to guide student-writers and
editors through the stages of school paper
production
To give them a chance to write their own pieces and
be read and edited by practicing journalists
To encourage the participants to share best
practices in teaching the different public speaking
performances
To enable them to demonstrate knowledge of
strategies in teaching Jazz Chant, Readers Theater,
Speech Choir, Dramatic Monologue, Emceeing and
Speech Delivery
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes
policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Timeon-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
