What’s Happening Around Town
Revelation 4:11 declares, “You are worthy, O
Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and
power. For you created everything, and it is for
your pleasure that they exist and were created.”
I am amazed when I think about God creating
everything for His pleasure, but when I contem-
plate the truth He created me for His own plea-
sure too, that boggles my mind! As we explored
the Botanical Center, we thought about God’s
marvelous creation and how He designed each
piece of His creation with a purpose and for a
unique use. Trees and plants provide us with
many things, such as paper, colored pencils, sug-
ar, and even rayon in clothing, which we use to
celebrate special days like Valentine’s Day.
These items come from God’s very own creation
and are a gift of love from Him for us to enjoy!
In addition to these studies, we learned
about Canada and held our own Olympic cere-
mony. We also learned some new special sounds
in phonics including the long e and o sound in
short words such as me, we, so, and go, as well
as the long a sound produced by letters ay at
the end of words like pray, stay, and hay. The
students continue to make progress in memoriz-
ing their addition fact families one through six.
We will continue in these studies during the
upcoming week and turn our focus to the Neth-
erlands in history. Though we do not know ev-
erything the next week may hold, I trust we will
find God’s magnificent love poured out on us!

A: We will be headed outside for recess when
the wind chill is above 20 degrees. However,
we will not go outside if it is really icy outside.

snow stuff at school, but please take note our
building is used by a church on the weekend.
So, instruct your child accordingly as to what
