PARTICIPATION AND ORAL PRESENTATION RUBRICS

Introduction.
The following rubrics are designed to evaluate learning outcomes concerning clear and effective communication through
oral presentations and participation in class activities or discussions. The rubrics include specific criterion with four grading
scales. The expected results are that the student perform at least at SUFFICIENT for college students enrolled in
sophomore and junior years; and at least IMPROVABLE for senior year college students. However students will be asked
to get better results if the course content requires a better outcome. Therefore Advanced Communication in English should
require aN OUTSTANDING result. Post-graduate students are required to have at least IMPROVABLE results up to the
point that they are OUTSTANDING before the development stage of their Thesis, Application Project, or Doctoral
Dissertation.
Learning Outcome #1: Clear and Effective Communication
Students must demonstrate the following:
1.1 Make an effective presentation (coherent, logical, viable) utilizing supporting materials (visual aids) about a
specific topic before a general audience.
1.2 Give a presentation with confidence, appropriate use of language, and clarity.
1.3 Make a clear presentation topic and organization (introduction, body, and conclusion) within the allotted
time.
