On a Journey with Jesus

Summer 2015

Well, I am sorry for the long silence from our family!

Life has been packed full. I would like to think we have
been busy living in each moment - that is, at least, the
goal! I'll try to catch you up
David just completed his first year of nursing school.
He is an excellent student and has not only earned
great grades, but has been well able to handle to
stress of juggling work, school, prayer, and family life.
I am proud of him!
Homeschooling is keeping me extremely busy, along
with our commitments to the Prayer Room and the Jail
Ministry. Read about those on the next page. In addition, the 3 older boys and I have been part of a co-op,
Classical Conversations or CC, where I tutor and the
kids attend class one day each week. We have participated in CC in previous years so it is not new to our
family. The boys have all enjoyed it, and it has helped
streamline some of subjects, directing some of our
learning.
Abby (14) has enjoyed making money by helping in
the nursery during the co-op time. Also, she was
promoted to a higher level in ballet, which means a bit
more time at practice! She still loves it, though, and is
looking forward to the worship-style performance in
May.
Rachel (16) joined a different co-op this year as CC
didn't have her grade level in our area. The work load
is heavy and the work challenging, but she is an
excellent student as well, earning nearly perfect grades. Rachel has also flourished as a musician, singing and playing both piano and guitar. It has been a year of big changes for her as she also has gotten her permit, has her first
job, and is developing a relationship with a young man from church. Both girls make me so proud as they grow in
Jesus and become beautiful young women.
Keenan (11) still loves legos and has accumulated quite the collection. Legos now have
a few rivals, though. First, after years of waiting and saving money, he got a dog! It is his
dog, and he is very good at all the hard work it takes to have a dog! The rest of us are
glad to have Spot around, too. Second, he fell in love with basketball this year after his
first team experience. He is already talking about next season! We are proud of how he
is growing into a wise, hardworking, and handsome young man.
After more than a year of asking, we allowed Micah (9) to take ballet lessons. He is in
his second semester and really loves it. He makes me laugh sometimes as he takes a
break from wrestling, dart guns, sword fighting, and basketball to go dance precisely and
gracefully. He is still a clown one minute and a fireball the next, but he is growing in
grace and self-control because he loves Jesus.

Keenan and Spot

Silas (6) is my quietest one. He especially loves to play games and he has
started his own lego collection. He also
enjoys playing jokes on people, which
sometimes gets him in trouble as he is still
learning the right timing. Silas is a quick
learner, an eager student and a good helper.

Nathanael (4) is sprouting into his own little personality! He is quick to smile or
laugh, loves life, and enjoys being with any of his siblings. It has been 2 years
now since he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. While sometimes frustrating for
all of us, he is doing excellently! God has given much grace for us as we have
adjusted to carb counting, 6-8 daily finger sticks to check blood sugar levels, insulin
pump site changes 3 or 4 times weekly, and many other inconveniences of having a
pancreas that does not work quite right. He is a trooper, and we are grateful for his
life and presence in our family.
Last but not least, is sweet and slightly sassy Sarah (1 ). What a joy she is to us
all! She is my everyday reminder that God knows what is best! I often think I know,
but His ways are better and higher, and I am (still!) learning to trust Him completely
and not lean on my own understanding! Sarah loves petting the cats and dog, doing
anything outside, reading books, snuggling her blanket (but never snuggling a
person, even her mama!), and following her brothers and sisters around!

Bigger than We are!

God is moving, and we get to be part of it!! After more than 6 years of faithfully praying for and loving the women in our
local jail, we are beginning to see and hear about some success stories. It is exciting to see one mom recently get her
own home, go to college to study something she is passionate about, grow in her love for Jesus, and keep up the fight of
faith! And to get a letter from one who has now been clean for years, going to church, keeping a job and living in gratitude
to Jesus. Or meet someone in Walmart who says they are so thankful for our service in the jail and we are part of the reason that they are doing so well. Amazing! He is still the God of miracles! We bring our little, He brings His grace, power,
and mercy! In addition, we are experiencing growth at CI-House of Prayer. Renovation is in process for a building downtown where we will have more space and be more accessible to the community. We hope to move into the The Sanctuary in August. This is a big change (much bigger than we are!), which will require much grace from all involved, but a neat
opportunity to have prayer and worship to the King of Kings right in downtown Wilmore. Jesus is worthy of praise and the
world is in desperate need of prayer. The time is now and we are honored to be part of this endeavor! Our kids are growing up learning to pray, knowing that God really answers us, and that following Him is not boring! We have a BIG God and
it is our great desire to be his instruments for his glory on the earth. And that means taking risks and walking into things
that are much bigger than we are!

Dear Friends and Family,

I would like to tell you a story. There once was a little
girl who lived in a great big world. She had blond hair, blue eyes, and a big
heart. This little girl may have appeared shy at first, but on the inside there was
nothing that could stop her. Do you know why? This little girl had a calling for
her life. When asked what she was going to be when she grew up, she would
lift her head high and confidently proclaim Im going to be a missionary!
If you havent guessed, this little girl was me. For at least six years I have felt a
very strong calling on my life. Verses, people, dreams, you name it, have ALL pointed to one simple fact. I am going to
be a missionary to the unreached people of the world. I am going to be Gods tool, preaching Gods word everywhere!
And I want to start now!
Though I cant exactly go and live in another country just yet, that is not going to stop me! I am excited to announce that my dreams are coming true, and I am going to be a part of TWO missions trips this summer! I cant wait!
The first is an outreach to inner-city Atlanta that my sister and I will be going on with some of the Church of the Savior
youth. The second will be my very first out of country missions trip EVER! As you can tell Im super pumped. My mother
and I will be traveling to Ecuador in late August to help out with a Young Life summer camp that is being led by some
great friends of ours. I better get working hard on my Spanish!
Now I need your help. These trips cannot happen without you. Any support would be greatly appreciated,
whether it is needed finances or your always important prayers. If you could join me in praying for these trips, I know
God will do great things. Thank you for letting me share my excitement for these trips and the future! I love you guys,

Abby Trimble
