Theideaistoputa5emahigh,anda5emalowonachart,anytimeframeyouwant,andthisformsachannel.Whenprice
movesoutofthechannel,welookforcandlesfullyormostlyoutsidethechannel.Iprefersmallrangecandlesandnottoenter
thetradeifthesetupcandlegoeshalfwayintothechannel...weneedroomforittomove.Abreakofthatcandleinthe
opositedirectiontriggersanentry.Stoplosswouldbe1pipaboveorbelowthesetupcandle.Profittakingisupfordiscretion,
butusuallyitatleastreachestheoppositechannel.Ifcountertrendingonemightthentakefullprofits,iftrendtradingpartial
profitscouldbetakenwithSLsettobreakeven.aslongascandlesgointheprofitdirection,stayinthetrade,onceareverse
candle,orsetupismade,thenclosethetradeandreversewithpropersignal.Ilookforfollowthroughandmomentum.Ifafter
2or3barsyou'restillnotinprofit,itmightbeagoodideatoexitbeforeyourSLgetshit.Inmostcasesyou'llseefollow
throughonthenextcandleafterentry.
Ihavefoundthatwhilenoteverytradeisprofitable,thatmanyare,especiallywhenwelookforcandlesoutsideofthemedium
range,preferablysmallrangecandles,atthetoporbottomofaswing,soourSLissmaller.Alsotherearetimeswhenthis
systemworksgreat,andothertimesinextremetrends,ortightrangesitdoesn't,butIhavethisideathatsomeonewithgood
codingabilityandpeoplesideasforprofitabilitythatfinallyaprofitableEAcouldbecoded.Anytakers?I'mnotacoderyet,
althoughI'mevertemptedtolearn.

wastryingasimpleMAcrossoverEAonRenkobuttheBuyandSellordersdon'texecutewhentheconditionsaremet.Avery
simplesystem,anditworksfineontimebasedcharts.Itjustwon'tcooperatewhenappliedtotheRenkocharts.
I'mrunningthe"RenkoLiveChart"EAona5mintimebasedcharttocreatetheRenkochartusingtheEURUSD,M2offline
chart(File>OpenOffline)andthenapplythe"MovingAverage"EAtotheRenkochartdirectly.
TheRenkochartupdatesinrealtimejustfine.Itjustwon'texecuteanyoftheMovingAverageEAtrades.
Cansomeonesaywhetherthe5EMAhilosystemwillworkonRenko.
IstheresomereasonthatEAscan't/won'texecuteonRenkocharts?
