INTRODUCCIN
El siguiente trabajo tiene por objeto reconocer las temticas y fundamentos del
curso, dar cumplimiento a lo planeado en la gua de actividades momento paso a
paso y aplicar las tcnicas de AVA. APA.

PRESENTACIN PERSONAL.
Carlos Mauricio Aristizbal: My name is Carlos Aristizbal, I'm 18 years old.

Actually I'm living in Medellin. I live with my mother. Im studying system engineering,
and working as a Systems technician at Townsend Systems.
Esneider Torres: My name is Esneider Torres, I am 28 years old. Actually, I am

living in "las brisas" neighborhood in Medelln. I'm studying industrial engineering
and working, as a laboratory technician at Argos. I enjoy what I'm doing there.
Juan Camilo Gmez: My name is Juan Camilo, I am thirty years old, I live in
Ituango, Antioquia because, I am working at the Ituango hydroelectric project. On
weekends,
travel
to
Medellin.
My
house
is
located
at
the Calasanz neighborhood, there I live alone. I like playing chess very much, I like
to play the guitar and play soccer.

DESCRIPCIN ACTIVIDADES EN EL TRABAJO
Carlos Mauricio Aristizbal: My job is one of the most important within the
company because I check the operation of the tracking units, although it is
sometimes unappreciated I love my work. I am working as Systems technician at
Townsend Systems and constantly learn new things about accounting, networks and
programming, but best of my job is that I can spend time with my family on weekends
Esneider Torres: I always start working at 8:00 am. In my work, I generally deal
with quality control materials such as gravel and sand for making concrete. I routinely
have to write reports about the quality of the materials. We usually end the work day
at 7:00 pm
I must travel a lot to get material samples, I also have to make inspection to those
samples for quality control.
In the company, we are going to develop new materials to improve the building
process.
We are the biggest company in the concrete production in Colombia.
The quality in our products is higher than other companies in Colombia.
Juan Camilo Gmez: I am a draftsman in software AutoCad, I draw in computer,

my work in very important because all people need see project and create new ideas
about construction in relationship hydroelectric, my company has the obligation
present projects in this software (Auto Cad).

VENTAJAS
Carlos Mauricio Aristizbal: English has become the universal language, I would
travel the world and will be very important to speak and understand where to go.
In my work it is good to know English because I'm always contacting providers from
other countries. They generally speak English and I understand them
Esneider Torres: Its very important to know a new language in my work, especially
English. I am working in a multinational corporation, so we have to deal with foreign
language speakers and they prefer to use English as the best way to communicate
with others.
Learning English as a second language is a good feature in my work, as we have to
read international standards that are written in English.
Juan Camilo Gmez: In my work, speaking English is very important because I

work with Germans and when they want to communicate with us, they use English,
which is the universal language. Additionally, all the equipment manuals come in
English, Another reason for learning English is that we have consultancies from
Europe, the USA and other countries and they are received in English.
