Introduction
Instant messenger is a network chat application where every user, uses for
communication with sending text, video, image, voice, file and more. In this particular research
of instant messenger where it have two categorize of instant messenger which is the public
instant messenger are for normal user and the enterprise messenger are for working environment
user. Instant Messenger system have many similar system which is the email, social network chat
system and mobile chat application; each of the system is same where it can send text, video,
image, file and more but in this research where focus on enterprise environment with have own
develop instant messenger and able to send or attach larger file to other user.

Literature Review
Problem Background
The research study the communication have make every user easier to send a
message or communicate with each other from writing letter to email, phone call, video
call and instant messenger. Information technology has change drastically all through the
year of research and develops a suitable and usable application. (Shiuyan, 2011) This
research based on instant messenger where users are able to do all kind communication.
Instant messenger is not limited by just doing texting, now all kind instant messengers are
able to have audio chat, video chat, files sharing and other. (Shiuyan, 2011) The research
study that instant messenger where has been available with different type developer that
develop such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL and etc, where it widely used
in public communication application. (Gregory et al, 2009)
This research also stated that how it help for enterprise environment for using the
instant messenger where it express the argument by the authors within an organization
face to face communication can make employees feel vulnerable, whether that means
giving a presentation to a team of peer or sharing idea with a group of executives.
(Nicholas, 2012) Where the author stated that able to help coworker on understand each
other and have free time to communicate during work hour. The research show another
author and agree with employee have the advantage of using the instant messenger which
the researcher stated that its great to reduce the ever expanding communication gab by
being able to connect with international locations using video call tools and it great to
share the latest business via chat tools. (Deborah, 2010) Instant messenger is securing
the user logging in to instant messenger which have username and password that required
to access to server.
The research states that instant messenger able to send or attach file similar with
other system which is the email and some social network chat application. Peer-to-peer
where it famously implementation uses for networking tools to send files from client to
server and server to client which it implement for the use of instant messenger and other

similar system for network chat application. (Gege, 2011) Instant messenger where it
having lot of benefit to user in term of communication, it almost like there are no
problem and no limitation, reality there no such application is perfect system where every
user have the problem that occur to each user. The research found that internet allows
every user to share files to their business client but the problem is that every instant
messenger and other similar system have limitation. (Mouldy, 2011) Research study the
problem of public instant messenger have their own limitation where it able to send size
of data with 10 MB, 15 MB and not more than 25 MB. (Gege, 2011) The study states the
reason of the limitation of sending or attachment a file which given reason is because of
size capacity from the server that which it allows to store all the send or attachment files
within the server, where developer are try to avoid filling up their server capacity size.
(Vara, 2014)
The research state that the problem for multimedia or constructor company which
need to send multimedia files or blueprint file where it have larger file and the user
struggle to send a larger data to the receiver. (Michael, 2011)
The research learn that other than sending or attach a file limitation capacity
problem, the most common problem for every technical network department are facing
the security risk. (Alan, 2014) Where it have no control over files being share and have
several problems where allow transferring worm, virus and malware throughout the LAN
which lead some user to send unidentified file. (Neal, 2014) Since mostly of the instant
messenger are public use application, the implementation of security are low. Where
research found that the encryption are important role for encrypt the file when send and
decrypt when reach to receiver. (Alan.com, 2014)
The research found out that the cloud system are available implement for public
instant messenger, the cloud system purpose is to upload a large file and store in cloud
system, which it allow user to store their data within the cloud system and retrieve data
whenever user from. (Bhattacharjee, 2014) The research found out the problem for the

downfall of using cloud system is that is very expensive to implement for small scale
business environment and to provide a cloud system for enterprise what if the system
down and cant retrieve the data during the down time. (Bhattacharjee, 2014) It wills
costs a lot of problem for business user where they are in hurry and require for the data
that store within the cloud system.

This research table 1 show that the detail of different kind of instant messenger platform
that available and the popularity user use. The study analysis that all the file sharing have
limitation where is only support not more than 25MB where is the first problem of the research
and the security encryption for files sharing. Yahoo instant messenger have implement the
encryption but is weak and Facebook encryption have no mention about the encryption for the

system. The Whatsapp messengers rely on some open source application for encryption file
when sending. The gaps of each instant messenger are the file sharing attachment capacity and
encryption where is state in the research table 1.

Problem Statement
The research of problem background where it state the file sharing size capability,
file sharing encryption and using cloud system to implementation for enterprise. The
research statement are focus on file sharing capacity where it all state not more than
25MB and using cloud system are the solution but when cloud system are down, the
enterprise cant get there data and implement cloud system will cost expensive for small
scale enterprise.

Research Aim & Objective

The aim to have proper way for enterprise to have their own develop instant messenger
for communicate with their colleague and which allow user to send a larger file with more secure
when send to client. There are several objectives are set and needed to have better aim is that:

User are allow to send large file without any restriction within own company.
Data that sends able to store in the server with limited time.
Sharing data are well encrypted when send.
User doesnt have to worry about security issues.
Business environment dont have to spend much financial on third party cloud system.
Create an instant application where every user is familiar with.

Research Design
During the Level 3, first semester timeline where it have three stages of doing the
research for the researcher which have three stage for starting the research.
The first stages where researcher must map out the stage of work plan to ensure all
planning structure are well plan for carry forward during the Level 3, first semester timelines.
The researcher must plan all the important criteria that need to improve the research topic.
The second stage of the research where will be given out questionnaire where user have
collect data through on internet by using the Google Drive to gather the data information or
having interview. The analysis process will analyze and investigate each person that giving an
interest answers about the research topic which researcher able to have interview with the
interviewee. The targets of population people for giving the Questionnaire are above 20 to 40
people where the age are above 18, where the position of person is lecturer, student or employee.
The third stage are gathering more data information from any source that related with
research topic which available in journal, book, internet, white paper and other source that
available where it can help the researcher more understandable for the topic. The researcher will
know more about the topic that choose which give more understandable report that needed to
prepare.

Personal Reflection
According to the research, the limitation to send a large capacity file which is able to
solve it with simple understanding for develop but to develop a instant messenger must have the
knowledge of using programming language which is Java, C++ and etc. The researcher must
have knowledge to develop an application that suitable to use and writing the source code. Since
nowadays, there been are a lot of tutorial about develop an instant messenger with different kind
programming language platform that available. This is an advantage for developer to learn step
by step and better understanding for the application works.
The research about security where it might be the toughest challenge and problem since
the developer has low knowledge of security encryption for secure file sharing. The research may
show some difficulty implement the security encryption for the instant messenger are quite
difficult. The developer may need to gather the data information about the file sharing and
encryption type for implementation, the developer must study the whole develop of instant
messenger; file sharing and security encryption from any source or having professional
developer to interview their perspective about the application network system.
The developer might weak on encryption but the developer might have another
suggestion of using the open source software to encrypt the file to secure file sharing while
sending.
Another is needed to gather information from questionnaire and interview the interviewee
for having their personal perspective about using instant messenger during their work hour.
Where this might change of though for the research to change title or change the content research
content during when doing the research.
