Policy for Cochin Municipal Corporation. It is expected to offer
scientific and technical tools for addressing water related issues
faced by the City. Hon. Chief Minister Mr.Oommen Chandy was
brimming with confidence while speaking to the audience at the
inaugural function. It gives me great pleasure to know that
Centre for Sustainable Water Technology and Management which
is a water technology development and incubation centre, has
been established by SCMS group of Educational Institutions. It is
heartening to note that this centre of SCMS Group along with
Municipal Corporation is in collaboration with the Indian-German
water Partnership in the conduct of this summit. The Chief
Minister inaugurated the second Indian-German Water
Partnership Summit. The theme of the summit was 'German
Solutions to Indian Challenges' on Monday, 6th October 2014
organized in association with SCMS School of Engineering and
Technology and Kochi Municipal Corporation.
Hon. Chief Minister has emphasized the need for using latest
technologies for water conservation and wastewater treatment in
the State. Several parts of the State are facing acute drinking water
scarcity and clean and safe water is becoming a scarce commodity.
This can be addressed with proper technologies.
