Balancing The Great Central Channel

Connecting the Great Central Channel
The Great Central Channel is the meridian that corresponds to the chakras. The t
ouch for holding these points is gentle connection. Pressure is not necessary, b
ut it is important to feel on the point.
The Great Central Channel consists of two arcs: The Conception Vessel and the Go
verning Vessel. This qi moves in a circular motion up the back and down the fron
t. This channel is very important for the health of the whole being as it harmon
izes and centers the individual. It governs spiritual and emotional issues. It c
orresponds to the chakras of yoga and when balanced through acupressure, can bri
ng an individual to a greater awareness.
Large vortices that include several acupressure points along the Great Central C
hannel are chakras. When holding the points associated with chakras, it is not n
ecessary to be exact. In some cases, it may be more comfortable to hold using se
veral fingers or the palm. Acupressure points are normally on the surface. The c
hakras are centered in the body but can be affected from the surface by the rela
ted acupressure point.
This exercise is simple.
With your right hand hold the very top of your head (GV 20 One Hundred Meeting )
With your left hand hold between the eyebrows (GV 24.5 Third Eye )
Move your left hand and hold the hole at the base of the throat (CV 22 Heaven Rus
hing Out )
Move your left hand and hold the center of the sternum (CV 17 Sea of Tranquility )
Move your left hand and hold 3 finger widths below the sternum (CV 12 Center of P
ower )
Move your left hand and hold 3 finger widths below the navel (CV 6 Sea of Energy )
Move your left hand and hold on top of the pubic bone (CV 2 Curved Bone )
Keep your left hand on CV 2 and Move your right hand and hold the tailbone (GV 1
Long Strength )

Communication among the points on the Great Central Channel is natural, and clea
r and open communication is harmonizing and energizing. When doing any acupressu
re on yourself, do not attempt to move energy, allow the vessel to find its own
balance. The Crown Chakra when open, is a good ruler for the others. That is why
the Crown Chakra is used as a base through most of this connection exercise.

Balancing the Regulator Channel
Master Points for the Regulator Channel
The Regulator Channel balances all the yin organ meridians in the front with the
yang organ meridians in the back. For a quick balancing, sit in a chair and cro
ss one leg:
Hold Spleen 4 (Grandfather/Grandson) on the crossed foot. It is located on the i
nside arch of the foot on the muscle that runs over the foot arch at the inferio
r border of the proximal portion of the first metatarsal bone. At the same time,
on the opposite arm,
Hold Pericardium 6 (Inner Gate) between the radius and ulna on the inner wrist a
bout two inches above the wrist joint.
In the same position, switch fingers to:
Hold Gall Bladder 41 (Above Tears) between the 4th and 5th metatarsals immediate
ly distal to the junction on the top of the foot, and at the same time
Hold Triple Warmer 5 (Outer Gate) on the outside of the forearm between the radi

us and ulna two finger widths above the wrist joint.

In the same position, switch fingers to:
Hold Spleen 6 (Three Yin Meeting Point) in the indentation on the inside edge of
the tibia about three finger widths above the ankle bone.
Hook your hand, like a coat hanger on the opposite shoulder with the thumb side
of your hand against your neck.

the indentation between the shoulder and the ribcage, three finger-widths below
the collarbone. With your left hand hold Spleen 13 called Rushing Door midline of
the thigh between the groin and the hip socket. Breathe as many times as you wan
t holding these points. Hold each side.
With your hand still on Spleen 13, grasp Triple Warmer 13 called Heavenly Bone
