The Miracle in July Author Awarded RACC

Professional Grant
Michelle Anderson Awarded Funds to Help Send Her to SXSW in March

Michelle Anderson, author of the visceral, genre-bending memoir experiment The Miracle in
July, has been awarded a Professional Development Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture
Council, a not-for-profit organization. RACC works to create an environment in which the
arts and culture in the Portland, Oregon tri-county area can flourish and prosper.

"The RACC grant will help get

me to the 2010 South by
Southwest Festival in Austin,
Texas this March to learn more
about alternative publishing,"
said Michelle. "While I'm there
I hope to meet with bands,
writers, and publishers to
share my experiences in writing MIJ, and get some feedback on my method of publishing."

If you are attending SXSW and would like to meet with Michelle, please contact her at
mediaChick@iheartmedia.com.

Act Two of the three-act story has been completed, and soon Act One and Two will be
available for purchase on [http://www.themiracleninjuly.com]. An Erotic Anthology is also
planned for online publishing. This Anthology is a compilation of all the erotica in MIJ, plus
one piece that has never been published before.

The heart wrenching ending to this saga, however, will be delayed in its release. Act Three
was initially planned for launch late February, but will instead be pushed to the end of
March. Michelle will be publishing on her personal blog about her upcoming plans for The
Miracle in July. [http://iheartmedia.blogspot.com].

Told in several segments in three Acts, and bookended by a Prologue and Epilogue, The
Miracle in July [http://www.themiracleinjuly.com/] is based on the true story of the author.
Its purpose is to prove to authors everywhere that there are alternative ways to share
stories and reach a worldwide audience using free or low-cost applications and social web-
generated content.

With sound, words, images and hyperlinks, this digital story is an experiment in interactive
sculpting, using tools available to anyone with a connection to the Internet. Videos, images
and music created specifically for this story are embedded in the text to help submerge the
reader into the experience of falling in love online. The Miracle in July has been released in
weekly segments every Monday since July 6, 2009.
